Can anyone advise on the Charles Band DVD Collection, Vol. 1 (Meridian / Crash And Burn / Dr. Mordrid / Head Of The Family)?
I KNOW I want Meridian on DVD. Sherilyn Fenn was a huge crush of mine from Twin Peaks and I loved seeing 'more' of her in this film when I rented it on VHS. $25 for the one film I want is starting to get into the reasonable range (but still pretty expensive).
I've got no clue what the other films in this set are like and if the quality of the DVDs are as bad as some are saying, I'm thinking I might regret this if I take the plunge on this even at half off.

Crash and Burn is a fun post-nuke movie, I think it was the second or third Full Moon movie, decent budget (for Full Moon), Dr. Mordrid is fun, it's a rip off of Dr Strange except with boobs, Head of the Family is a weird black comedy, not for all tastes.
$25 isn't bad for four movies, that's about right. The first three are on par with the VHS releases as far as the transfers go. Head of the Family is better (it's newer) and has a commentary track (which isn't very good) and all the movies have the making of "Video Zones" as special features.

What's keeping me from buying the PM box is hope naive as it is of actually seeing these films remastered.
The puppet master movies are among my favorites.

I never sell off any DVDs I upgrade, it's just too much of a hassle for me, and the return is not worth it. I usually give them away unless there's something not carried over. I too love the PM movies, but oh well.

I'm glad I looked back in this thread. My original complaint about the outrageous shipping cost is now gone. I would have paid a reasonable shipping cost, but free is even better. So I ordered the Trancers set. Thanks, LosingMyMind, for the update!

Not sure. Close your browser and clear your cookies for Full Moon? Make sure you're ordering a box set. Also, Full Moon Classics Volume II is listed on the site as excluded from the sale. The free shipping option shows up right before submitting the order.

Has DVD Talk reviewed any of these? You'd think Full Moon would be sending them some samples.
