Bargains for DVD storage units??

I'm sure there is a forum about this, but I searched and couldn't find any.

My current DVD storage unit is starting to fall apart...fast, and I am in need to order a new DVD storage unit very soon. I have quite a few discs and I think my older storage unit cannot handle the weight anymore so it needs to be pretty durable.

I have around 1000 discs (combination of plenty of box sets, etc.) and am looking for a good place to get a fairly large unit to store them in. I'd generally have the DVD's sticking out on my shelf kind of like a bookcase shelf so I can see the titles.

Any suggestions of a good place to look that isn't insanely expensive. Thank you so much!!

DDD carries a number of them and with 20% off and the free shipping, I think this might be the best deal going. If anyone can contribute anything about the quality of the DVD racks they carry from those who already purchased from them, it would be much appreciated. I'm looking for the best sub-$100 DVD rack I can get my hands on.

i'm also interested, but don't have the $100 price limit. can someone suggest/recommend any of the dvd storage units that DDD sells? TIA.

edit: i'm interested in a large, dark wood wall unit with doors (by wall, i mean tall). i can't find anything tall! even this one says it is just 61" (just a little more than 5 ft.)... suggestions?

I've bought 3 of the large ones that Suncoast carries for around $50 or so.

Anyone want a unit from Boltz? It's great, but I sold off my DVD's due to lack of work

Let me know if interested and I'll give you details.

I got one of these from DD in the last sale and it's a pretty solid unit. Stands right at 6' tall and holds plenty of DVD's. I've also got a couple of the Suncoast ones that were mentioned (believe they're made by Sauder) and like those as well. I believe I saw someone with a setup where they had actually stacked two of those with some brackets so they would take up the entire wall.

We discussed the Leslie Dame units a while back here .
I like these units, they're solid when assembled and look good. They've been available through DD.

I love the Elfa shelving at The Container Store.

I am a total non-handyman, but was able to easily install a system.

Here is a pic similar to what I did. I used the narrower shelves, and have like 9 rows from ceiling to floor.

Elfa is great because it is totally customizable. I can move shelves or parts of shelves around easily.

The Container Store is a bit pricey, luckily I bought my stuff last month during their 25% off Elfa sale.

But the hardware is pretty generic, and you can likely find a similar system at other stores or design it yourself at any home depot type place.
