I also decided (after spending an hour researching the titles) to place a last-hour order for 7 more Criterions rather than wait for the next sale, only to have the website hang up during the checkout phase. Should have known not to chance it from past experience. Well, there's always next June...I have plenty to watch until then.

I tried for 2hrs last night trying to login to the website. I kept getting a "syntex error" pages. Because of this I could not use the 20% off coupon. I've been a loyal customer for 6 years, and have "backed up" DE/DVD-P when others bashed....
I'm rethinking my loyalty....

Umm...you did have over two weeks to place your order. I am sure their system overloaded due to a good number of other procrastinators waiting until the last couple of hours to place their orders.

I doubt I'll bother with DVD Planet during the next sale. Their website is terrible and I'm not impressed with their customer service either.

I tried to place an order on 11/13 but the website crashed and I lost a $200 order. After the crash, I could no longer add items to my cart and I had to wait until DVD Planet was able to reset my account.

I replaced the order on 11/15 and placed additional orders on 11/20 and 11/21. The 11/15 and 11/21 orders were canceled on 11/23 because of problems with my billing address. Three items from the 11/20 order were shipped on 11/24.

I replaced the combined order on 11/25 and corrected the billing address. That order was canceled yesterday along with the remainder of the 11/20 order. I called today and there's no way the order can be reinstated. I told the CSR that I probably wouldn't be ordering with DVD Planet in the future and I'd probably stick with Deepdiscount. She replied, "They're our sister company."

I don't understand why it took them so long to cancel my original order and why they didn't call to make the billing address corrections. I also get flagged for multiple large orders with Deepdiscount but they call before the order is canceled. It also doesn't make sense why three items from my 11/20 order were OK to ship but as soon as I placed another order the two remaining items had to be canceled as well.

This was my first time ordering from DVDPlanet. It won't be the last but it will definitely be the last time I make a large order.

I guess the moral is "don't ask, don't tell" with DVDP. I emailed last night saying "Where's my order?" (placed 11/11, one item, in stock, part store credit part CC). I got a response today saying
"Per your request, we have canceled the item(s) listed below."'
Which was not my request, and of course now the sale's over. They did this last time, they had "inventory issues" with the MI HDDVD box set.

I just received a bubble mailer for a dvd that shipped on Nov. 24th. No big deal since I've been pretty lucky with the mailers (no damage), just thought I'd mention it.

I just received Grounded For Life: Season 4 from the sale with absolutely no dvds in it. I did notice the plastic was open on the trim cases side, but it just looked liked the plastic wasn't fully sealed, but I guess not. None of the other dvds in the package were missing discs. I sent an email off to DVD Planet, so hopefully I won't have a hard time getting this fixed. Just a heads up to people to always open your dvds a make sure everything is there and in good condition.

My order was shipped in a couple different parts, and I placed a second order a little while later. Long story short, I have received everything except for the order that shipped first.

My only order got split up into multiple shipments (atleast 3, but could be 4) and the first arrived with Slacker, it was in perfect condition. I hope the rest arrive in the same condition.

In case anyone else is waiting for Star Trek HD DVD set still, I called today and they said it won't be shipping until December 21st at the earliest. I cancelled.

I'm in the same boat as others who've said their orders were split up and the parts shipped last have arrived but the early shipment has not arrived yet. They have not responded to any emails. Should I be worried?
