Are you sure you're not confusing it with the SD version? It's showing $66.84 vs. $53.90.

Dang, Lost in Translation is already out of stock. What are the chances they get more in? I have it ordered on Amazon for 19.95 but I'd like to save as much as I can...

Ultimately, probably not. The odds of getting them back in stock aren't good.

BUT... you're also not risking anything by placing the order. It'll either ship or be cancelled. Why not just take the plunge?

My first order:

Grand Prix (HD-DVD)
A Scanner Darkly (HD-DVD)
Eyes Wide Shut (HD-DVD)

Also adding Lost in Translation as I just read it'll ship on 11/18. Good enough for me.

ernestrp: do you mind telling me which puzzle. I tried several and they worked, maybe there is an issue with a particular sku.

thanks

I tried with The Passion of Joan of Arc and the 20% wouldn't work.

And, actually, I had the great service from them that where the order was cancelled, and then the item came back into stock, they gave me the original price I had tried to buy it at, rather than the current price (got "Free Enterprise" dirt cheap that way! :^)

The two titles I wanted are L'Avventura (Criterion), which is not even listed - and the new Chinatown CE, which is listed as full screen only.

Thanks. Found the problem, it will take a short while to fix but we're correcting the problem items. Sorry for the trouble.

Rounded out my Kubrick BDs with 2001, Eyes Wide Shut, and Shining. Also got Caddyshack (HD), The Usual Suspects (BD), Spider Man Trilogy (BD), Dawn of the Dead 2004 (HD), and NIN: Beside You In Time (BD).

Spent about $175 so far

Hopefully DVDPlanet will do this sale too, they have better prices on Gimme Shelter Criterion and Undeclared complete series

If it's discontinued and out of stock I would seek out another e-tailer if it's something you really want.

I followed the DVD Talk affiliate link and did the same. Thanks for the reminder to order sooner rather than later. I was going to wait to place my order when my B&N rewards card arrives but figured I'd rather not risk anything I wanted being OOS.

Tim Burton's Corpse Bride [HD DVD]
A Scanner Darkly [HD DVD]
Planet Earth-complete Collection [HD DVD]
The Wire - The Complete Second Season
The Wire - The Complete Third Season
The Woody Allen Collection
The Ed Wood Collection
The Films of Alejandro Jodorowsky

Total for this Order: $ 235.70

After the DVD Empire Criterion sale and the current Amazon TV sale, my wallet hates me.

Yep, all for me. I don't care for the packaging on the X-Files set so I'm sticking with my original season sets. I'll have plenty to tide me over if the WGA strike lasts for awhile. Thank you DDD!

I guess that answers it then. No go on items showing up as discontinued.

Yeah, I guess so. Some of the stuff that is discontinued at DD is showing up as in stock at Amazon and for a decent price. DD with its sale would have been better and nicer, but I guess I'll get it from Amazon. Other stuff i wanted might cost me somewhere else, so I'll just have to pass I guess.

Is there any way we could have separate posts for bluray and separate posts for hd-dvd? Maybe deals on those? I don't really want to wade through 150 pages of posts to find blu-ray only options.

I noticed that as well. Could DD Dave match the price of the Undeclared set by any chance? That's one that I was really looking at getting.
