Sale starts FRIDAY 11/9!

Just saw this posted on another forum (thanks to Joedog):

Got a post card in the mail today from www.deepdiscount.com.

Save an additional 20% Off from 11/09/07 - 11/25/07 with Promo Code DD1109.

Disclaimer from DD:

"Offer valid on currently available DVDs, Posters, Fun Stuff, and Storage Accessories. Previous sales are excluded. Prereleased DVDs are not included in sale. Coupons do not apply to video games, CDs, Books or electronics. Coupon may only be used once per customer. See site for details. We reserve the right to limit quantities."

I'm assuming Friday 11/9 is when all coupon codes go active for this sale.

So...any guesses as to what the most bought items will be this time around? :)

I'm also pissed about missing out on that deal, but if you mind not getting Duck, You Sucker, you can get the three Man With No Name movies for about $37.98 after discount. I think I may do that.

Twin Peaks Gold Collection for around $50? That's #1 on my list. I'll bet the Seinfeld series set for $160 sells pretty well - but I know I'll never watch them if I buy it! Now should I also spring for the Angel Series set for around $80?? Decisions. Decisions!

Awesome!!

joliom 11-05-07 03:41 PM

The Twin Peaks Gold Box is at the top of my want list as well. After that, Miami Vice: CS box, the Leone box, Close Encounters of the Third Kind: 30th AUE, and 300: 2-Disc SE (since I missed out on the $9 Wal-Mart deal). Besides all that, who knows.

domino harvey 11-05-07 04:17 PM

this means the Dr Katz megaset is now in play!

Paul_SD 11-05-07 04:29 PM

Great news for some high ticket HDMs that come out on the 20th like
CET3K (Blu-ray), Die Hard (Blu-ray), and the Star Trek TOS S1 HD DVD/DVD set

What does it mean by "Coupon may only be used once per customer?"

It's always been that way, but there are multiple coupons. It's probably best to make your biggest order first though, just in case they decide to let you only use one instance of the deal period.

Crossing my fingers for Dvdplanet to mirror the sale to use some store credit. Doesn't look like they're including books so far, but maybe they'll do a 'mega sale' or whatever it was again and have most books automatically discounted.

Same here. I've got over $400 in credit there waiting to be used. If it's just over at DD, I don't think I'll get that much as I don't have a lot of cash laying around right now.

Oh I pray that ending date is correct and the sale [should it happen] actually takes in the 11/20 releases.

treeman 11-05-07 07:44 PM

Sweet!! Sounds good! So it is a 16 day sale....can't wait to start ordering then!!

Thanks for the info!!

Hopefully they do a huge CD sale too...so i can get a couple of CDs i want....or they sneak through with the 20% off.

Anyway!

Good work Velveeta!!

This is going to cover two pay periods for me - I expect to get into some serious holiday debt this year!

CRAP! It looks like it got bumped, crap, crap, crap!

mayorofsmpleton 11-05-07 09:26 PM

woo hoo! That covers my second pay period this month as well. I'm set for buying the few titles I really really wanted!

two titles from my wish list just shot up in price so we must be close rotfl

but seriously their regular prices seem 7 or 8 percent higher across the board then previous years. just did the math on my wishlist and i'm skipping this sale altogether this time. maybe i'll grab pixar short films if thier 21.79 price stands. but somehow i doubt it will.

toldawg128 11-06-07 04:29 AM

Pretty much everything in my wishlist has shot up in price, so I won't get as much as I was hoping to.

The Twilight Zone collection has gone back down to $164.89. Currently the Marx Brothers Silver Screen and Preston Sturges Collections are $28.39 each, and (right now anyway) three of the He-man sets are $20.77 each, so I may buy a couple of those. I'm also considering the Dr. Katz set as well as some BR/HD-DVD movies.

Palpadious 11-06-07 07:20 AM

Once Upon a Time in America was raised to $21.21. :thmbsdwn:

alfonsosoriano 11-06-07 07:21 AM

I'm pretty sure the only prices that go up at the ones that are currently on sale now. When that sale ends, this new one begins.

treeman 11-06-07 07:46 AM

Yeah you people complaining about the price going up by a couple of dollars are just clutching at straws.

I have 28 items on my list and none have gone up in the last 3 weeks.

A few have gone down.

The way i see it is that any price fluxtuations at the moment are just that price fluxtuations. Like always deep discount prices have gone up and down.
