Cheap Halloween DVD Box Sets @ Wal-Mart

Didn't see this posted anywhere but I just got back from my walmart and in the dvd section there was a little horror dvd section with a bunch of dvds'. The only real notables I saw was the 4 disc chucky box collection for $13.72 & the 6 disc omen collection for $19.98. here are the box sets

I picked up the chucky set b/c it's still over 30 bucks everywhere else. Too bad it doesn't have the first one but oh well.

The Chucky Box Set is over 30 bucks? Where? It's been priced at $19.99 at my BB since it came out.

There was a cool lenticular slipcover on a copy of Child's Play 1 that I found at walmart. I was thinking of picking it up along with this set but it was too badly beaten up. Would have been cool though.

It also doesn't have the unrated version of Seed of Chucky and is missing a few features I believe from the Bride of Chucky. Check the DVDtalk review, it mentions it there.

The new slipcovers are nice, but when I slid out the case it was the same old fullscreen edition of "Child's Play" that's been out for years.

I got all excited because I thought MGM had finally released a better edition, but it looks like I'll have to wait a bit longer. They also had lenticular covers for old editions of "Terminator", "Robocop", "Carrie", and "The Howling".

And Pumpkinhead and Phantasm IV: Oblivion. I finally got Pumpkinhead because I got tired of waiting and updated my Phantasm IV disc which got a nasty scratch on it from years ago. Not a bad deal if you don't have them.

Why wouldn't the Chucky box have the first one? That doesn't even make sense.

actually it makes perfect sense considering 2 different companies own the rights to the movies.

Also, the Chucky collection is $15.59 at Amazon as of this writing, so this might be a new price drop:

Ah, I hadn't seen that. I was thinking of going to look for it at another Wal-Mart but after reading this I'm glad I didn't waste my time.

Thanks for the heads up!
