Best to look thru all rows, all the way back, since there are not many copies of some of the titles & they're covered-up by the ones in front. |
The Columbia, MD Walmart just had a dump bin with loads of 2 Disc WTC and Catch Me If You Cans. No 3 Disc from what I saw. I ended up picking up the 2 disc MI:2 and WTC.

Anyone else notice that the barcode on the back for the WTC 3-disc is the exact same as the 2-disc one? Course, the 3-disc "BC" is a stick-on. The BC under-neath that one is the real #. Wonder how much that real # would scan for @ WM?

I found Some Kind Of Wonderful, the Special Collectors Edition today in the displayer in South Salem! Up til now all the updated titles on this display have the older versions like Tommy Boy or North Dallas 40.
Still haven't found Perfume. |
Went to 3 Walmarts this week in the Cleveland area and found no Perfume and no 3 disc WTC. So depressing.

FINALLY found the set-up at both the brea and la habra, ca stores. got myself match point, the chumscrubber and perfume. no sign of she's the man at either. will probably check other wal-marts if i'm close by. there were almost 50 (literally. no exaggeration) copies of the 3-disc WTC at la habra. i was quite surprised. haven't seen the movie, so i didn't pick it up. but they were so overflowing with that title that i figured if i blockbuster it and like it, it might still be there in a few days to get.

I got WTC 2 Disc, Dickie Roberts, and Bad News Bears (REMAKE)
|
The Wal-Mart on Hurstbourne Ln in Louisville had the display today. A bunch of 2-disc WTC, WS copies of Paycheck, Timeline, Nacho Libre, Match Point, Elizabethtown, a few of Perfume, Against the Ropes, The Prize-Winner of Defiance Ohio, and a few other titles.
No 3-disc WTC, though. I may check the one on Westport Rd tomorrow or Saturday. Also, you may want to keep a lookout for a special display of Wal-Mart exclusive extras titles for 9.99. I've seen two of these so far, and here is what I can remember: X-Men 3 w/exclusive 50 minute bonus disc Napoleon Dynamite (2-disc with special cover) with t-shirt Little Miss Sunshine w/5-track audio CD Ice Age 2 with bonus disc Big Momma 2 with audio CD Eragon with bonus CD or DVD (can't remember which one) John Tucker Must Die! with 5-track CD and one other title I can't make out from the cell phone picture I took. |
Those looking for the WTC 3-disc, be sure to check the color of the WTC lettering on the spine (3D has white letters, 2D has black) -or- the denotion on the bottom of the front art work.
Reason being - the top security sticker on 3D does NOT look any different than the 2D one. Nor is the case any thicker. |
I wonder if any of these titles will be $3 at Deep Discount within the next month or so like the Paramount sale last year?
Also, some of these look like they have been reshrinkwrapped much in the way that some of the $2 CTHE Big Lots titles looked with that film stock type logo on them. |
I went to Wal-Mart this afternoon and they fianlly had the display up. I picked the up the 2-disc WTC. Great deal IMO.
|
For those who haven't had any luck don't give up. I was on the other side of town this afternoon and I stopped by a Wal-mart and they were JUST setting up the display while I was there. I picked up The Wool Cap, The Hours, Dreamer (for the wife) and The Prize Winner of Defiance Ohio.
|
Both our WalMarts have the displays, one actually has two but I've yet to find Next Best Thing the only movie I wanted...lol

Modesto, CA
Finally hit our local store, they only had a three-sided display pushed up against a shelving unit. Looks like I was a little late, it appeared picked-thru already.
This one had: Heller In Pink Tights Match Point The Chumscrubber The Gambler Sky Captain & The World of Tomorrow Wool Cap MI 3 Timeline Some Kind Of Wonderful, the Special Collectors Edition Pretty In Pink (original edition) But there were absolutely NO: Perfume: The Story Of A Murderer World Trade Center The Tin Star Atlantic City The Molly Maguires Failure to Launch Tommy Boy I picked up: Crazy People Catch Me If You Can Dickie Roberts Pretty In Pink: Everything's Ducky Edition I'll have to check out the Wal-Marts in the neighboring towns. |

I only saw the old edition of Pretty in Pink myself. You mention both in your post--typing on autopilot or both were present?

I found the display in the Cerritos, CA store. It was situated in the middle aisle next to all the candy.
Pretty decent, but unspectacular selection. Lots and lots of Matchpoint, Star Trek Nemesis (FS), Sky Captain (FS) and MI:2 (2-disc) I managed to score WTC 3-disc (It was the last one), Paycheck (mediocre movie, but some good extras), and Timeline. There were a few others that I was tempted to get, but I decided to hold off. I actually already own the 2-disc WTC (got it last X-Mas).....What is on the 3rd bonus disc? Did I read that correctly that this was actually a Target exclusive DVD? Should I keep this and dump my 2-disc or should I just hang on to it and give it as a gift to someone? Is the 3rd bonus disc good viewing? $3.98 was too much of a steal to pass on this. |
Not a big fan of the Mission Impossible movies, but since I picked up a sealed laserdisc of the first movie at Amoeba real cheap a couple years ago, I bit on the 2nd and 3rd here. The disc label of MI3 says "Disc 1" but it's the only disc in there; haven't watched it yet but somewhere it probably says "Turn disc over for additional features" ;)

wal-mart in suffolk, va had the display out in the media section. picked up the last kiss and 2 copies of WTC (2-disc). couldn't find the chumscrubber so i guess i'll try the other wal-mart near by.
|
Wal-Mart in Orlando on Kirkman Road has displays up. There are two displays in the back rows of the media center (they do a good job of hiding these things).
Picked up the following : World Trade Center (2 Disc Version only) The Molly Maguires The Tin Star Some Kind Of Wonderful - Collectors Edition The Hunted The Last Kiss |
I wouldn't mind getting a copy of WTC 3-disc, if anyone is willing to pick one up for me send me a PM. Thanks!
|
I thoroughly checked the Fair Lakes and Sterling WMs today. There were over 100 WTCs, but no 3 disc versions.
If anyone wants to pick me up two or three, I'll gladly pay at least $5 each plus postage. Edit to add: Nevermind, I found some. See later post. |
