Thanks Yellow.

Perfume? Shame that tanked so hard its already $4 but damned if it isn't a great deal.
Great flick, even if it does go off the rails. |
I went back to get Elizabethtown tonight and thanks to this forum :) I also picked up Match Point, The Last Kiss and MI 3. Now for a few questions, is The Hours or Wool Cap worth picking up?

For some reason all the Paramount DVDs scanned for $20.98 instead of the $3.98 price. Since there was no sign of much the dvds cost anywhere, they couldn't make any price adjustment.

Wow, that would've made me so mad... |
local one finally put out 7 different movies on the shelf, odd with all the movies posted here. a total of about 40 total movies divided between those 7

I wanted to know b/c I skimmed these posts and at one wal-mart I only looked at the front cover. The other Wal-Mart I went through each WTC, looking at the UPC and spine, but no luck.

They had all kinds of the 3 disc at the Walmarts in MacArthur and Beckley, WV. I bought the 2 disc off of a friend 6 months ago for $5 and planning on selling it to someone else for $5. ;) |
Damn- I've been trying not to buy any movies on regular DVD that are out on HD-DVD and/or Blu-Ray, but might have to make an exception for WTC. The HD ones are still 2 discs, so do they include the contents of the Target exclusive disc?
|
Okay, a few quick questions regarding the 3 Disc WTC...
1. What is on the third disc, anyway? Is it worth the hassle of running around to multiple WMs in hopes of finding it as opposed to the 2 Disc version? All too often these retailer exclusive third discs have wound up being nothing but movie promo fluff. If that's the case, I'd rather save my time & fuel. But if it's material of any substance, I'm game for the search. 2. Has anyone in the St. Louis, MO area found a 3 Disc WTC at a local Wal-Mart? If so, mind tipping me off? Thanks! |

Target Exclusive 3-Disc Edition. Bonus disc includes 75 minutes of interviews with survivors and rescuers. |
Perfume: The Story of a Murderer for $4?
I'm sold even with the tremendously crappy cover art. |

In addition to the ones that have been widely recommended/discussed, the following are worth considering in my opinion (either based on reviews or personal preference). Atlantic City.. a must have Crazy People.. not a good film as a whole but has some decent lines and silly scenes that might make it worth looking into if so inclined Dreamer.. a decent sappy family film that is also good within those contexts The Gambler.. never seen this but reviews are fairly interesting Match Point The Molly Maguires.. North Dallas Forty.. transfer supposedly leaves a lot to be desired but the film is worth it The Prize Winner of Defiance Ohio.. very good film The Tin Star |
Picked up The Tin Star, Atlantic City, The Prize Winner of Defiance Ohio, The Last Kiss, The Chumscrubber, and World Trade Center 3 disc yesterday at the Bowie Maryland store. Thanks for the heads up OP.

I am a big William H Macy fan and after reading the IMDB reviews of The Hours I am going back to wal-mart for round three. |
My Wal-Mart in Topeka, KS had this deal going. After I told him about it, my dad stopped by and got me a copy of the WTC 2-disc, but didn't see any 3-disc editions there.
I'm thinking about picking up the special edition of M:I-2 and Paycheck (haven't seen the latter) to flesh out a little John Woo collection for myself. |
I was just at the Walmart in Bay City, MI and they had a huge display of these DVDs. I ended up getting Catch Me If You Can, The Chumscrubber, and Timeline.
I was surprised to see a couple fairly recent movies like Nacho Libre included. |
I went to my Wal-mart, and nada. I assumed it wouldn't be up here in Canada and unfortunately I was right. :(
|
My WM had a 4-sided display with many of these titles, but definitely was missing many of the them. I bought The Last Kiss, Elizabethtown, and Failure to Launch. WTC was the 2-disc, so I passed for now...
|
Field report: Lexington, KY. Richmond Road location... New display up. WTC is the two-disc but be sure to give it the floater test, there are quite a few in the display with loose discs in the case... The Chumscrubber was a blind buy and I really dug it, spun it last night.
|
Would someone be interested in picking up a 3-disc WTC for me?
I have sealed extras of Perfume for trade or maybe a straight paypal, all costs covered + something for your trouble? |

I have stopped at several Wal-Marts in the West Virginia and Virginia area this week. At every one of them they had 4 of the 3-disc WTC. All were located together in one column at the very back of the display behind the 2-disc version.
