I can confirm that it is indeed the 3-disc World Trade Center... at least in the Wal-Mart in Greenville, NC. I picked up a copy last night. I had to find a price scanner thing because I could hardly believe that a 3-disc Oliver Stone movie, that was fairly recent was only $3.98. It was so I didn't even think twice about buying it although I haven't seen it yet. Hope it is good, but for that little bit of money I am sure the 2 discs of bonus features are worth the price alone.

No $3.98 displays at either of the 2 Wal-marts I checked out. Although there was 'activity' -- one had moved the $13.72 horror double features to the front of the store. The other had replaced their $5 stand-up display with a more 'bin-type' approach.

spoke to soon--figured it'd start showing up more tonight. Durham/Chapel Hill wally has it now. No 3 disc WTC. WTF, my fingers wanted to type. Guess they're mad about it.

I'm in NC, I found a few titles in volume at Salisbury, NC, and then the whole display was at the Kannapolis, NC. No WTC 3 disc, only the 2 discer. Picked up TR2, WTC, and Elizabethtown. Coach Carter WS was in the sports section, but rang up $7.50, so it appears FS only is $3.98.

Display is up in Fenton, MO. On the way to work this morning, I heard a Congressman complaining on the radio about "adult" movies being shown on airlines. He said that he was instituting legislation to have a "family section" on planes where little kids don't have to be subjected to adult entertainment. Apparently the film that sent him over the edge was LAST KISS. So, when I saw it in the $3.98 titles 5 minutes later, I had to pick up a copy.

I had to go by Wal-mart this morning to get some allergy meds so I thought I would check one more time for this display and to my surprise it was being stocked when I showed up. I told the clerk I had been to all the stores in the area looking for this new display and she told me that they always put out new displays on Monday night/Tuesday morning.
I picked up:
Chumscrubber
Coach Carter (WS) (was 7.50 but she gladly changed the price to 3.98)
Catch me if You Can (2disc)
World Trade Center (2disc)
Timeline
Tomb Raider: Cradle of Filth
Mission Impossible 2 (2disc)
Perfume: The Story of a Murderer
I somehow forgot Elizabethtown so I will be stopping on my way home tonight.

I went to the WM on SE 82nd (southernmost one) in Portland, OR this morning. They were literally just taking the discs out of the boxes. They said their shipments were late. I looked through the boxes that were there and found some (notably MI3, World Trade Center, Tomb Raider, Coach Carter (FS), Catch Me if You Can, Nacho Libre, some others). They probably had more boxes in back.

I found it at a store in my area. They had two displays for it actually, both on those regular 4 sided displays in the middle of the main aisles. No copies of the three disc World Trade Center anywhere though. I wouldn't mind a copy if anyone is willing to pick one up for me for cost plus shipping, or a trade for a bargain bin title they can't find.
I ended up leaving with...
Perfume: The Story of a Murderer
The Chumscrubber
Match Point
Nacho Libre
Mission Impossible 2
Mission Impossible 2 (For my Dad for Christmas)
Mission Impossible 3 (For my Dad also)
