Looks like there are others as well:

Flowers of St. Francis $10.80
Border Radio $14.40
Monsters and Madmen $28.80

JiM T 09-22-07 12:03 AM

No, not a good time, but I ordered "Monsters & Madmen"... Thanks!!

alfonsosoriano 09-22-07 12:04 AM

Woah. Count me in for at least the Monsters and Madmen set! Anyone find anymore discounted titles? I'm actually kind of glad only a few really interest me.

alfonsosoriano 09-22-07 12:10 AM

Couldn't help it. I added Jigoku to the order. I really enjoyed that film.

rhymeswithorang 09-22-07 12:21 AM

Couldn't resist Green for Danger. Nothing else on my CC wishlist was reduced (actually a good thing). Thanks OP!

souvenir 09-22-07 12:27 AM

Thanks! I'm a little cautious as to whether these will go through, but nothing to lose. If anyone's looking for recommendations and likes films of the 1940s, you can't go wrong with A Canterbury Tale.

Arpeggi 09-22-07 12:28 AM

Got Green for Danger and When a Woman Ascends the Stairs. Terrific deal. Might get Jigoku too.

Greg MacGuffin 09-22-07 12:38 AM

Picked up Equinox, Jigoku and the Monsters & Madmen set. Very cool deal. Thanks OP!

hindolio 09-22-07 12:43 AM

very odd. otoh odd is good.

HE Pennypacker 09-22-07 12:51 AM

Got Jigoku, Canterbury Tale, and Green for Danger. Thanks OPs!

Mr Pixies 09-22-07 01:02 AM

Thanks! I got Flowers of St. Francis, When A Woman Ascends the Stairs, A Canterbury Tale, and Green For Danger,

At these prices, give Border Radio a chance, same with Equinox, and Jigoku.
An Angel At My Table is very good too.

Laser Movies 09-22-07 01:03 AM

Count me in for An Angel at My Table, A Canterbury Tale, Monsters And Madmen, and When a Woman Ascends the Stairs. I would have got Green for Danger if I already didn't own it.

Picked all these up including Green for Danger and Eclipse Box 4: Raymond Bernard.

Thanks, OP.

coop22 09-22-07 01:29 AM

while these are certainly huge discounts for criterion dvds (65% off), are these good blind buys?

i am looking them up on imdb.com and many of them have very low ratings...

thanks in advance

chente 09-22-07 01:29 AM

The Beales of Grey Gardens - Criterion Collection - $14.99

Same concern here plus Amazon's Revovery program might come into the picture :(

Thanks a lot OP for posting this.

stonecountry 09-22-07 01:35 AM

Does anyone have a complete list of discounted Criterions, and does anyone know how long this deal lasts?

punit 09-22-07 01:38 AM

Looks more of a Price Mistake than a deal. I'm guessing it can lapse anytime.

Vermiknid 09-22-07 01:41 AM

I looked at all the Criterion discs in a search and didn't find any others with a signifcant discount from their regular prices (over 50% off). It seems all the bargains are listed in the previous posts.

Mosskeeto 09-22-07 01:42 AM

Most likely a mistake (undoubtedly) but is likely to fly until they catch it. Since they are selling them for a reasonable sum, although definitely way below cost, I think that they will honor these purchases and ship them as scheduled. With that in mind I had to add Flowers Of St. Francis, Jigoku, A Canterbury Tale and When A Woman Ascends...to my collection. Nice job OP.

alfonsosoriano 09-22-07 01:45 AM

How does an error like this even occur? I mean it's just on these random titles.

g 09-22-07 01:47 AM

Beales grey garden and bernard eclipse don't look like deals.

PopcornTreeCt 09-22-07 01:48 AM

Picked up Green for Danger, Border Radio, and Monsters and Madmen set. Thanks OP!!

punit 09-22-07 01:48 AM

Ordered every title mentioned in this thread except Beales grey garden and Eclipse Series Box 4

stonecountry 09-22-07 01:59 AM

I'll try to get Jigoku and Green for Danger. What's some good really cheap movies I could add to my $24 total to get free shipping? I'd be up for any decent cheap horror, preferably in the $5 range. Any suggestions?

Mosskeeto 09-22-07 02:03 AM

Read the reviews and placed an order for Monsters And Madmen. Sometimes it helps [may hurt the wallet] to have insomnia for those of us on EST.

cerulean 09-22-07 02:08 AM

Not as good a deal, but decent prices for The Complete Mr. Arkadin at $30.49 and Dazed and Confused at $23.49.

stonecountry 09-22-07 02:11 AM

The Beastie Boys DVD is $16.xx...not sure what it is usually.

Liquid Death 09-22-07 02:20 AM

Went for Green for Danger. Thanks OP! :)

Here! Here!
I know if I simply had went to sleep and woke up tomorrow I would've saw this thread title with the following in front of it (DEAD)

I know Return of the Living Dead II is $6. I suppose it's decent.

The Thirteenth Floor is on sale now for $5.49. It's not horror but a pretty decent flick.

tasog37 09-22-07 02:49 AM

Man, this is going to leave with me like $5 to my name, but I couldn't pass it up at these prices...

When a Woman Ascends the Stairs
The Flowers of St. Francis

Thank god I'm picking up a pay check on Sunday. I'm super tempted on Green for Danger too.

Thanks OP, quite a find.

billz 09-22-07 02:57 AM

Got Equinox and Green for Danger. Hope it doesn't get cancelled.

Thanks OP.

Anna Karina 09-22-07 02:57 AM

I don't know if this has any bearing, but these are pretty much all Criterions that were released a few months ago. Maybe they were trying to lower the prices to the regular prices if single-discs, etc. and messed up since new Criterions are usually a few extra dollars. Just making a guess in the dark though.

Foolscreen only, though.

Lemdog 09-22-07 03:27 AM

Insomnia rules ... got in on Green for Danger and When A Woman Ascends

MScottM 09-22-07 03:28 AM

Thanks OP. Ordered several of them.
