Yeah the order I placed second shipped before the order I placed first. First order had Monsters and Madmen and Jigoku and then I went back to order Green for Danger and Equinox.

sandman007 09-24-07 05:38 PM

Heh...My order is being shipped from one coast to another and back again. UPS is so wonky.

Brent L 09-24-07 05:45 PM

My shipping estimate keeps changing - it now says:

Delivery estimate: October 4, 2007 - October 10, 2007

Yeah, same here. My Green for Danger is on the way though so I can't be too disappointed.

Mine too. It went from Oakland to Kentucky and I live in Southern California!

Krelyan 09-24-07 07:11 PM

Seems UPS sends a lot of their stuff through Kentucky. I live on the West Coast too and often have it shipped from WC to Kentucky back to the WC.

BambooLounge 09-24-07 07:21 PM

Seems everything is now dead except for Border Radio.

IanUngstad 09-24-07 07:23 PM

Monsters and Madmen is currently on back-order, which is why a lot of people's copies haven't shipped and had their expected receipt date change. On it's listing at amazon, it says "more inventory should be in on Oct.2"

I just hope they honor the sale price when they get stock in. I haven't had any cancellation emails and my order still reflects the sale price...so I'm optimistic. Weird sale at any rate.

It's amazing. I check the bargain forum perhaps 99 out of every 100 days, but the one day I skip I'll miss a deal like this one.

I did get in on this one, but I do feel your pain. Awesome deals in the "hot deals" forum once in awhile as well, I've missed some doozys by not checking that more often.

Yeah, I check every day, too, but the day after Christmas last year I was at my in-laws, so I mised out on a really good B1G1 deal at Amazon. Somehow, I don't regret not getting box sets last Dec 26. :)

I hope Amazon honors these prices.

Considering that there are thousands, if not tens of thousands, who visit this site pretty regularly, it's basic probability theory that more than just a few will miss out on any given bargain.

I think it's worthwhile for DVDTalk to have a kind of alerting system wherein every DVDTalk user get individual e-mails for terrrific deals/price-mistakes. Of course, you need to have specific filters on your mail account which forwards your e-mail as SMS to your cellphone so you don't miss the party. ;)

Crap! Oh well, at least I'll have it by Halloween.

Pretty much my reaction as well, with my fingers crossed that Amazon doesn't try to screw everyone over in the meantime. :)

HE Pennypacker 09-25-07 03:58 AM

I got my order of Monsters and Madmen Shipped today, with the price of $29.00. Everyone ordered before the price changed should get it soon.

justbarelymovin 09-25-07 06:58 AM

Looks like Border Radio & The Flowers of St. Francis are shipping for sure (cannot be cancelled), but same as everyone else re: Monsters and Madmen. I'm optimistic. :)

Gobear 09-25-07 10:13 AM

I made two orders with Amazon, and both of them are listed as Not Yet Shipped.

#1 Monsters and Madmen and Green for Danger

#2 La Dolce Vita and The Stephen King Collection.

One would think that #2 at least would have shipped by now.

David Levine 09-25-07 10:40 AM

I ordered Monsters and Madmen and Woman Ascends Sunday morning with free shipping. I later changed it standard shipping Sunday night because I wanted them to ship before they could change the price.

Both shipped yesterday morning.

Mosskeeto 09-25-07 04:22 PM

Received order today with free shipping option:
The Flowers Of St. Francis, A Canterbury Tale, Jigoku and When A Woman...
Was inside mailbox which meant USPS delivered it.

Jtheo 09-25-07 06:31 PM

Package was waiting for me when I got in tonight.

Going to check out Green For Danger tonight.

Mr Pixies 09-25-07 08:07 PM

I didn't order the Madmen box, but my order still hasn't shipped. Everything I order from Amazon seems to take a long time before they decide to ship, even if it seems like it's in stock.

samper 09-25-07 09:28 PM

madmen in hand - green for danger in hand - waiting on equinox (shipped)

sandman007 09-25-07 09:42 PM

Order has arrived. Thanks OP!

Sweet Baby James 09-25-07 10:21 PM

Finally entered the shipping soon phase!

Couldn't help noticing the 2 dvd's right there at the bottom of the package. Aren't they supposed to be in Monsters and Madmen Criterion box ?

Mosskeeto 09-25-07 11:25 PM

Got an e-mail saying my Monsters set has shipped and is scheduled for delivery by "A1 Courier Service". Who is this carrier? I can't recall ever hearing about them.

Jtheo 09-25-07 11:46 PM

punit - good eye. They are in the set it is just turned backwards.

Barnes & Noble tend to use them around the major metropolitan areas-- like in NYC for their same day shipping. I can't recall if I've had Amazon ship to me that way, but they've been pretty reliable (and quick) in my experience.

Scheduled to deliver it Wed. and in NYC... so it sounds promising.

MikeShaynePI 09-26-07 12:29 AM

My order for Monsters & Madmen still shows as shipping soon. Thats the problem with free shipping. The shipping is fast and free, but before it get out the door it seems my order must go through a pneumatic tube that sends it around the world for no reason. Not until then can they ship my order. I placed two more orders on Sunday within 5 minutes of each other, one of them had Black Book Bluray and Suspiria which shipped today, while the other one for Knocked Up 2disc and La Dolche Vita has not shipped. Doesn't even say items shipping soon. Just says items not yet shipped. And I really want that Knocked Up DVD? What does this have to do with criterion? Nothing, so suck it.

izatright 09-26-07 03:11 AM

Awesome! Mine were changed to "Shipping soon." All seven.

punit 09-26-07 05:02 AM

All the 9 mispriced titles shipped for me with Super Saver Shipping option

alfonsosoriano 09-26-07 06:48 AM

Yay, my first order of M&M/Jigoku shipped!

indy81 09-26-07 07:31 AM

I really doubt these were "mispriced." Amazon was probably trying to shift some overstock - they have these short sales all the time. Everyone's acting like they're getting away with something.

If that's the case, why wasn't it publicised like any other deal/sale? What if jasko had never discovered the mismatched prices ? Why are the prices back to normal after couple of days? I can still see they have stock of some of the titles whose prices have been corrected.

I doubt that's the case. The prices are way too low to be intentional. I would expect the prices in an actual Criterion sale at Amazon to be along the lines of DVD Planet's regular Criterion prices.

Btw, I just got the shipping notice! Hurray!

I assume they didn't publicize because they didn't want to sell too many of them at that reduced cost, just enough to shift some excess stock. The prices went back to normal after they'd sold enough. If jasko hadn't discovered the prices, someone else would have. Amazon isn't dumb - they know word travels fast on the internet.

Again, Amazon does this stuff all the time. All of the sudden a DVD will be 50% off for a few days, then it's back to normal. Granted, this is all speculation on my part. But it makes a lot more sense than a glitch that somehow reduces prices on certain Criterions - is it a coincidence that all of the recent horror titles were discounted? And it's not like they were reduced to .01 or something - then it would have obviously been a mistake. My point is, no one should feel guilty about buying these.

jewellrunner 09-26-07 11:00 AM

Can't believe I missed this. :(
