Darn. I have some Borders gift cards buried somewhere, would love to use them w/ this. But I have no time to find them and shop before Thursday.

Too bad it's 40% off the list price.

Hero's for example is $39.99 & the list price is $59.95. So with coupon it's only $36..... $4 cheaper than their normal price. Not a very good deal but thanks for sharing.

True, it's probably not a great deal on some sets...especially newer releases. However, the list price on a lot of shows that have been out for a while is $23.99-$28.99 and getting those for around $15 isn't bad.

As above, not necessary since this is free. You're thinking of the rip-off B&N paid discount club.

Guess it would help. More importantly, it might help to have something about it being a coupon deal--The title alone makes it sound like a store-wide sale. Of course, one would think most folks would look closely at the thread and read the fine print on the coupon about membership.

Not necessarily a super steal, but this would be the time to buy Mystery Science Theater 3000 volumes from them -- at $35.97 each. You can't land most of them for this cheap online anymore. Most places that have them priced this low appear to be permanently out of stock of many of them. DD seems to have run out of several volumes for good. DVD Planet has run out of stock on many volumes and are still priced about $5 higher than this for the ones they still keep in stock.

makes the WB Film Noir set 4 about $36 - not too bad for 10 flicks.

Excellent suggestion. Back when news broke out about volume 10 quickly becoming scarce, I ran up to a Borders with a coupon and got one for $40. I figured they'd still have one because of the high list price.

I just checked my email and I got the 3 DVDs for 2 coupon. My thanks to the OP for the link for the 40% off version. Do you think the sales are regional or do they cherry pick and/or randomly select who gets what?

Nice deal, but since the Borders near me either has a crappy selection or has jacked up the prices to the extent that the coupon does nothing, I'll pass.

40% sounds like a good deal, but with so much listed at MSRP, the DD sale @20% off is more often better.

The BTGO coupon allows sale items, while the 40% is off list price, so there may be a decent deal or two for the BTGO coupon, depending on their current sale prices.

Well, that gives them the cheapest price for Brothers And Sisters S1 on Tuesday. I guess I'll use the coupon for that. Thanks to the OP.

i'm planning to get the alien quadrilogy tomororw using the coupon. now when i went to the store to get them to hold the item, the sticker on the set is 79.99, which is the old list price i assume. the new list price on bordersstores.com/amazon.com/other places is 59.99. i'm guessing no one ever really buys box sets that often, so they probably don't update the prices.

here's the question: so when i use the coupon, will it take it off the stickered price? or the new list price? even if the sticker doesn't reflect the 59.99 price, their system should, right? because if its off the new list price, it'll be 36.99 which is not bad.

It will probably come up $79.99. Tell them to look it up in TLU. They have to give it to you at the $59.99 less the 40%. Don't say a word about Amazon, or the clerk will likely launch into "website not ours" mode. If the clerk says no, get a manager.

Our system reflects a $59.99 price for the Quadrilogy, but if you find one of the sets with an incorrect price sticker, I believe it will ring up at the higher price (the data is hard-coded into the sticker). Your best bet is to go to one of the Title Sleuth computers, type 7397725 into the keyword form under "movies" and print out a slip to bring up to the register. You'll be able to show the cashier the correct price for the set and still get the 40% off.

I was thinking I might give Friday Night Lights a shot for $17.99 after discount. I've heard nothing but good things about the show and Universal has that money back guarantee and all...plus I have a Borders gift card with around $15 on it so it's kind of a no-brainer.
