Man, the DVD deals keep coming from Amazon. I'll have to think about this one. Liked the show ok, but didn't love the show. This is just $15 a season...haven't looked but it seems possible that you could pick a season up for that price at other times throughout the year.

Wow...incredible deal from Amazon! Too bad I already own seasons 1 thru 5, or I'd be on this in a second...

I think I just found my mom's Christmas present (one at least). Yes, these deals are great....when they match a need on my Wish List.

FWIW, it appears (from the pic) that the first two seasons are the colorized versions...

Yeah, that would be the only drawback to this otherwise fantastic deal...

Amazon has been having DVD deals everyday in their "Deal of the Day" during this TV on DVD week, which started last Tuesday September 4, 2007 and will end tomorrow September 10. I wonder what DVD will be in the Deal of the Day tommorrow, their last day of TV on DVD week. Hope it is a another multi-season TV set.

Two reasons why I'm not buying this one, even though I will buy it somewhere eventually.

1 - I have a feeling we'll eventually see a compete series set for this.

2 - This is the type of show that will be on sale for less than $15 per season at some point (witness all the $10 and $5 seasons at BB recently).

But a good deal if you're not patient.

If I recall amazon had these buy 2 get 1 free awhile back. They were 24.99. So that's 12.49 a peice. So I agree we'll probably see these cheaper at some point.

$24.99 + $24.99 = $49.98/3 = $16.67 ... unles I missed something ...

Unless he/she meant buy 1, get 1 free. Then his math makes sense.

oh! If ONLY the first seasons weren't the colorized one, I'd love this deal.

Thanks for letting us know anyway!

So close yet so far...

Amazon gave me the first three seasons free last December. (along with twenty other free sets) I'm hoping for a similar deal around Christmas time this year.

He/she bought 2 for $24.99 each or a total of $49.98 ... he/she received a 3rd one for free ... $49.98 divided by 3 (2 purchased + 1 free) = $16.67 ... where am I going wrong?

I agree with you. The math didn't add up. I just pointed out that if he meant buy ONE, get one free instead of buy TWO, get one free then they would come out to $12.49 each. A mistake was either made with the math or in what deal was received.

Back towards the topic -- why are folks looking down on a colorized version? Is it just a desire to have the show the way it was originally aired or am I missing something?

It's more of a desire to have the original.

I usually abhor colorized anything, but on a lark I bought the colorized Bewitched S1. It's surprisingly well done in a standalone viewing. I may reconsider that opinion if I get a chance to do a side-by-side comparison against the first season that was originally shot in color (2nd season?).

Got this set today & was VERY disappointed. I knew about the colorized early seasons, which was okay because I already owned the b&w versions. I bought the set for the later seasons I didn't have since I had a deal to trade the first 3 sets to a friend for some unopened sets he doesn't want. The problem is that none of the sets in this bundle were sealed. In fact, one of the slimline cases has the plastic on the spine (as well as the paper cover beneath the plastic) sliced the length of the spine (looks like boxcutter damage). The discs all appear to be unused (except for one disc that has a couple of smudges), but the overall impression is that either the manufacturer or Amazon has simply taken some opened returns & done a shrinkwrapping job on them. The boxes & even the cases have a slightly-shopworn look and feel to them.

This is the first time I've experienced this with Amazon, as I have bought several bundled sets from them in the past. I don't mind this when it's advertised this way (unsealed), but this is a lot like buying a "refurbished" electronics item. I know that individual movies in boxed sets are often not sealed as they are in their individual releases; still, this was a complete surprise.

Anybody else encounter this? I'm thinking seriously about returning them, since the $15 per season is more what I would expect to pay at a pawn shop for opened copies (actually, they'd probably be more like $10/season).

I noticed with my Sergio Leone Anthology box, it was sliced with a boxcutter on the facing inside spine. Nothing too terrible as long as I won't be watching them everyday, but it was peculiar.
