It's R2. Well, I'm not buying the US version.

Personally I have all the movies but they are spread out through VHS, The initial DVDs of several, and the new DVDs of several (that I was missing)... I'm done until the Blu-Rays are released.

There are a lot of fans who love Connery and Brosnan but hate Moore and vice versa
They feel that if they did that, then certain collections wouldn't sell as well as others, and only completists would get them all. This way you pretty much have to buy all 4 sets.

Are you sure this isn't just a DD bundle deal? I've bought bundle deals before from DD. Like all 8 south part seasons a few years ago, they were shurnkwrapped together.
Nope, this is an offical release. And a great price. I would be surprised to see it go up prior to the release.

Uh Edit, maybe not so great after looking at that packaging.

If decisions were made by fans, then yes.

However, the decisions are made by people whose job it is to make money.

If the fans were to take a massive stand and stop buying the sets until the one they wanted was released, then there's a possibility that things could change.

Sadly, the odds of enough fans having the willpower to do something like that and force a change in a years-long business practice that has proven very successful is... well, the words "snoball" and "hell" come to mind.

Oh my... I'm happy it looks like that. I admit, I'm a lemming. If they had put any real effort at all into the packaging, I would have put my ultimate collections up for sale in my store and bought the new set.

Guess I won't have to worry about doing that now.

With the last few years seeing great packaging for sets like West Wing, M*A*S*H, Homicide and many other TV shows, how could these people mess up a simple thing like packaging for a great movie series?

Couldn't they have atleast added a new slip cover for Casino Royale to match the other boxes? Eh...

Actually I wish that the set would just have the older series boxes, I already own Casino Royale and see it as a different continuity.

I'm happy with the $125 I paid for the four ultimate box sets from Amazon. Maybe I will buy this for the packaging though.

HD versions are probably on the horizon, so I wouldn't fork out another $165 or something for a "new box". I'd expect an HD announcement for a HD Ultimate Box Collection, just like the other boxes only in HD, in a year or less.

I hope they weren't expecting people to double or triple dip for just that.

Reminds me of:
