I went in and asked one of the guys in the HT Department if they still had the coupon. He looked around, found a HT Demo Disc, busted it open and gave me the coupon. I went over to the DVD department, grabbed a non-Bart head Simpsons Season 10, went up to the register, gave the girl the DVD and coupon, she scanned it, I gave her my money and walked out of the store having paid $19.99 + tax for it!

Of course, on the way out, I remembered that I forgot to bring a $5 RZ certificate with me. Doh!

I didn't have any better use for the coupon so I got Simple Life season 4 for free today.

I used the coupon today to get the third season of the Pretender for $4.99. The scan didn't register automatically, but the cashier manually took off the $10 without any prodding. I'm not sure if the coupon is now totally inactive or if it just doesn't work with the Pretender.

How many of the $14.99 dvds this week at Best Buy are Fox Titles that this coupon would work with???? If anyone has any idea, please e-mail me at [email protected]. I'm going this week sometime.

The Pretender is in the Fox section at BB??? I don't recall it being a Fox title, so that would explain why the coupon did not work. I used it last night just fine...

I don't think any of them are... To my recollection, NONE of this week's $14.99 titles are in the Fox DVD area at BB...

The Pretender is a Fox title, but it was not in the Fox section, it was in a special rolling display for this weeks sale DVDs.

I used it for Pretender season 2. Tried to use two coupons for two seasons, but was allowed to use only one. When I tried a second BB, they pointed out the fine print about discounting only regular priced Fox TV. So shot down there.

Both of these stores accepted the coupon without problems previously, so perhaps they're getting tough.

Incidentally, Voyage To the Bottom of the Sea is also a Fox title.

Picked up 21 Jump Street Seasons 2 and 4. Used a coupon on one. Wouldn't let me use one on both...

I had pretty good success today. I was able to grab five of the Simpsons theme discs (Treehouse of Horror, Christmas, Christmas 2, Gone Wild, Kiss and Tell) for $0-3 each. I handed the girl five coupons along with those DVDs and a couple others I was buying and she took them, no questions asked. It was awesome seeing that total drop over $50 after she put them in.

I only wish I could have found more of the discs. The Futurama disc like them would be have excellent too.

But it's not in the Fox TV on DVD section, so the coupon doesn't automatically work when they scan it. YMMV on getting a manager to override it. I was shot down today at 2 different stores... The coupon specifically states save $10 on any Fox-TV DVD "in our Fox section" so they don't have to honor it, even if it wasn't on sale...

No go on The Pretender for me. I didn't read close enough before as I thought it scanned automatically for it rather than was a manual override only.

Also tried, The Simple Life since it would have been free but was told that the item had to be $9.99 or above to use the coupon.

I was told that once and I told the cashier to scan the coupon just to see if it would work (I knew it would). Now to find season 2 to complete my set of coasters.

She did scan them. It displayed the coupon but no amount was taken off. That was when the manager mentioned the cause was due to the item needing to be $9.99 or above. Tried at two stores with the same result.

It sounds like they may have changed the coupon/computer then, because it worked fine on sub-$10 purchases a couple days ago.

Isn't that what normally happens with the coupon? Then when you're ready to make the purchase, a popup screen shows up asking the cashier whether or not to apply the discount on the Fox box set.

I have no idea if both stores were not doing something in order for it to not work on those as it worked fine for anything over that $9.99 for them so I had no clue what was happening either.

It worked for me tonight on the Simpsons single disc 9.99 sets. I think perhaps your cashiers were hitting "no" to apply the coupon.

Either that or corporate took Simple Life out of the fox store classification, which seems odd.

It worked for me on The Simpson $9.99 (and above) and 24 Preview discs also. Just not The Simple Life ones (nor The Pretender but I'm guessing that is an override issue for not being in the Fox section even though it is a Fox set).

They definitely weren't hitting the no button. Just wouldn't apply the coupon to anything under that $9.99 threshold (ie. The Simple Life's).
