Hopefully they will reduce Quantum Leap, Knight Rider, the A-team, & Northern Exposure too. I would like to compete these series.

Northern Exposure often goes on sale at Circuit City, Target and such.

I'm trying to remember when it really went bad. Was it the fourth season? I know it was around the time John Rhys Davies left...
No, it was the 3rd season when it "jumped the shark" (http://www.jumptheshark.com/topic/sl...-comments/1808)... Rhys Davies left about 2/3 way through the 3rd season in "The Exodus: Pt. 2" when Arturo was killed and Maggie Beckett, played by Kari Wuhrer, was introduced. John Rhys-Davies was fired from Sliders by the producers to bring in a younger, sexier, female character in an attempt to raise the ratings with teenage/young adult males.

I doubt this is a true "re-release" with a new box... probably just a new price. That box is pretty badly designed... While it doesn't appear to scratch the disks and does hold them well it's a bit of a pain to get the disks back into it and the "cover" is difficult to reinsert. I expect the foam holding the disks to disentigrate after a few years too... but I found this:

http://www.earthprime.com/dvds/slide...on-1-dvds.html

It talks about the "Dual Dimension" set but if you go to the bottom of the page there are links to actual box art for the rental market. These can be printed and put on regular boxes allowing you to do your own repackage of the S1&2 set.

Yeah, but that would end up being even wider than the original box. I'm also concerned about shelf space.

Ok, thanks.

I just noticed the price of Sliders Seasons 1/2 is $24.99 (which isn't bad if you have GCs) at Amazon and it has the reduced MSRP of $26.95.

Either that or just ripping off Moonraker.

Those two films were only released a couple of months apart in the summer of '79. It's more likely that they were *both* going for the "James Bond meets Han Solo" vibe. It's just that one of them actually had Bond in it.

For my 'Sliders' box, I pulled out the foam, and put the discs in some nice CD cases that slid into the box. The clear plastic part of the box still fits over them.

CD cases come in slightly different sizes - if you do this, just make sure they will fit into the sliders box.

I'm more inclined to go with Sliders than Buck Rogers.

While I still enjoy original Battlestar Galactica, from the clips I saw on You Tube, Rogers seems horribly, horribly cheesy and dated.

Now Sliders... I remember really getting into that show and watching it regularly. I don't think I saw how it ended. I remember not liking when they got rid of Arturo - I loved the character. I guess at some point I just lost interest.

That said, is it OK to buy just S1/2? Arturo goes early in S3, right, so I may want to skip that, and save the cash. I just hope I won't feel too left hanging at the end of S2.

Has anyone seen Sliders in-store for this price? Would make buying it easier.

Looks like those of us who are in the "being processed" status may have to wait until May 22 (just basing that on the pre-order bit.)
