The bonus DVD is pretty unimpressive. Just 13 minutes of "the villains are very complex 3-dimensional characters" and "we modeled the villains closely on the comic book, but gave it our own spin because some stuff from the comic doesn't translate well to the big screen." Almost all the movie clips are taken from the existing trailers except I think for some brief shots of Topher Grace in the Daily Bugle. I think some people would be better off waiting for the Circuit City postcards. On the flipside I had to turn off the Spider-Man 3 preview featurette on the 2.1 DVD after 30 seconds because they seemed to be starting to tell the entire plot of the movie and were showing a bunch of new scenes. At least the Wal-Mart disc is something you could watch without fear of spoiling anything, but you'll gain almost no new insight on anything from it. I would have preferred something that just retold the stories and history of the 3 villains from the comic with a little comparison to the movie versions.

Yep, it looks like all Walmarts broke street date on Spider-man 2.1 All the MA locations had them for sale early...One local mall has a Walmart and a FYE, I wanted to rat out Walmart to FYE so bad, but I figured I better not, I like getting new releases before the official street date!

What would that do?

Thanks FangsFirst - confirmed in Chicago, IL - they had about 5 sets of the Spiderman 2.1 and WM bonus disc left for $12.88.

The Chicago EL train scene is extended!! I love it!

I checked my Walmart in Waterbury, CT but didn't see anything. I looked in electronics and up front. Ugh!

Honestly, probably nothing on our level. They'd send some info to stores telling them to pull it, which most would not notice or just ignore.

However, wal-mart would probably be fined unbelievable amounts of money, if indeed it is a full 'hard' date.

Frankly, I'm at least looking into this, being as I work for another retailer, and this is thoroughly unfair to anyone else. So, y'know, get it now if you want it...
