My GameStop gave me some bullshit explaination about why their $5.99 dvds arent marked down. They said something the only ones that are marked down are generic dvds that wouldn't be in their system. I asked them to check by scanning a few $5.99 ones and they didn't come up at a lower price. I dunno...

That's exactly what the first post says. Only the ones with these generic labels (mentioned by Edison) are on sale:
Used DVD G, PG, PG13
Used DVD R, NC-17, NR, Unrated
Used DVD Music/Concert (?)

Any $5.99 DVDs that have the actual title of the movie on the sticker are NOT $1.99.

Then again, these deals should be nationwide, so if you find one of the generic labeled $5.99 DVDs, they should scan at $1.99.

I've only been to one GameStop since the deal was first posted and found nothing worth purchasing IMO. I'm going to two more this afternoon.

If they are one of these numbers they'll ring up for $1.99 regardless of the sticker price.
I found this info to be very helpful as well where the movies weren't already marked down to $1.99.

Cool, there's not enough LIers here

Yeah, I exhausted the two Shirley stores and the Medford store. The Shirley selections were nonexistent and Medford wasn't too bad, but only one DVD caught my eye.

I like the new Medford store because it's not picked over like I've seen other GS stores (some of the mall GSs and the Islandia store). Plus at Medford, they don't put the hard sell on (it's the worst in the Smithaven Mall stores). I'll still check those stores anyways.

Shit, with all these other LIers, I suppose there's no point in making my usual runs. Anyone hit Bayshore yet?

Nah, I haven't gone that far yet.

I didn't buy anything at Shirley because there wasn't really anything interesting. I only bought something from Medford. I'm checking the Smithaven ones on Friday afternoon as I'll be going to a ROH show at Sports Plus that night.

But what I forgot to mention was that I went to a different GameStop a couple miles away and bought 2 non-generic dvds (Warner SE's) that were $5.99 and marked down to $1.99. When I went to the other stores they were COMPLETELY oblivious to the whole sale in general.

There is also some sort of Used DVD Anime sticker as well that is $1.99, but I can't remember the exact wording.

Yes, but I live in Portland, Oregon - aka Our Lady of the Pretentiously Liberal and Gender Confused - so being foul-mouthed is not a dead giveaway for being male in my book.

I had no luck at the two other GameStop/EBs I went to. One just opened and had the B2G1 deal. They had a few marked at $1.99, but nothing worth buying. The other had things set up completely different. They were running B2G2 on the stuff that wasn't $1.99, but with the $1.99 DVDs, they bundled them together in groups of 4 and were selling them for $4, without the B2G2 being valid on the bundles. Same deal basically, but the bundles were all shrink wrapped so you couldn't break them apart. It was all basically dollar store type stuff anyway, so I didn't really miss out on anything.

Whoever enters DVD's at the Tri-County area store in Cincinnati is pretty vigilant about entering the movies properly. I found exactly one "generic" disc, a made-for-TV movie called Mazes And Monsters that I had never heard of until looking it up on IMDb just now.

Went to another store and managed to find at 1.99
The Ghouls (Indie Zombies!)
Deadfall
Volcano High

Volcano high was a surprising find. Great martial arts movie but the cover is completely focused on the American voice actors. Snoop dogg can't even act! What does he know about voice acting?
