Best Buy $9.99 titles - READ NOW!

DVD Talk God
Alot of people hated Poseidon, but I personally enjoyed it. It was a fun summer popcorn movie. My only complaint was it was a little short at 98 minutes, which many have said failed to have them develop the characters more.
I was really hesitant to buy this title for 24.99, but I would definitely recommend it for 9.99 and it's cool that it's the 2-disc version as well.
I bought 4 titles yesterday including this which made it come out to about 5 bucks, so yes I would recommend it.

well I'm fucking pissed. I went in and tried to buy 4 dvd's with the BOGO and even though it rang up the fat bitch of a cashier wouldn't go through with the sale. She called over the front end supervisor and she said it was okay, but the cashier kept insisiting that they shouldn't ring up that. I explained to them that my father had just bought these yesterday and had no problem and she still wouldn't go through with the sale, so they called up the media guy and he said no to it. And the cashier looked at me like I was the biggest asshole ever then apologized to the people behind me with the exact quote of "I'm sorry this customer is causing an inconvenience to you, we'll ring you up in just a second." Now I'm always a calm guy at these checkouts, if a deal goes wrong I don't give any more hassle because I'm a cashier and I hate dealing with assholes all day but I snapped when she apologized to the customers saying it was all my fault calling me out like an asshole. I bent my rewards card and ripped it in half, gave it to them and told them to throw it away because I would never set foot in another Best Buy again.

Well, no luck for me.
The titles rang up at 9.99 at the 23rd Street Manhattan store I just visited during lunch.
Moreover, they didn't have any 300 discs. When I asked, I was told that they weren't giving them out until tomorrow. Double-screwed.

Works in Noho, NY. They were out of V for Vendetta, even though their computers show in-stock. Employee couldn't find any in the back.
EDIT: just saw the post above me.
Initially, they rang up as $9.99 each. Once the cashier totaled the order, I noticed a prompt came up on his screen (I wasn't close enough to read it). He hit Enter, and the total for the 6 DVDs came out to $30 + tax. So they'll scan at $9.99, but once it's totaled, the discount should come off after Enter is hit.
300 movie ticket/trailer also won't be available until Tuesday at Noho, NY.

TakingChase - that is unbelievably bad service! That cashier should be fired for being so rude. What store location were you at? You should definitely complain to corporate. If I were you, when you cool off, I'd go to another store to at least take advantage of this deal if you still want the titles.
I've had a similar experience with a cashier some time ago at a BestBuy and ended up leaving without buying anything, but went back the next day and had no problems with a different cashier.
PS: Many Thank You's to the posters who found this deal!

I held off on getting the Batman titles for tomorrow so I can get the 300 disc.

You...are a genius! This is a great point, hadn't thought about it like that.

Just got back from the Warwick RI location. The deal was still in effect, although the discount wasn't applied till the final total was displayed (it appeared as if they were all 9.99 until then, and at one point the cashier announced the subtotal, then the register revised it right before I swiped my card).
Picked up:
Phantom of the Opera
One Flew Over The Cuckoo's Nest
Poseidon
The Lost Boys
Enter the Dragon
Bullitt
They had at least one copy of every title except Citizen Kane, which was sold out, and I grabbed the last Poseidon. Most titles had multiple copies.
Unrelated: I also picked up the new Alexander Revisited, they had a display out (with between 20-30) copies early.

I just picked up Shawshank and Batman plus two 300 movie tickets for $10. The cashier couldn't believe it.

Confirmed in Coppell, TX.
Got V for Vendetta and Citizen Kane and a 300 disc. I'm going back for Heat and Batman, I think (I didn't have my credit card with me).
The prompt says "OSCARBOGO", my cashier was pretty surprised too.

That would be hilarious.....

As long as managment and/or the Point-of-Sale "system" are OK with it (ie. your ass is covered), why the frick should you care.
edit: Oh yeah, I forgot suggest that you write corporate regarding that store and the bitchy employee, takingchase. Don't forget to include how you've ripped up your membership card and vowed to never frequent their establishment again.
