I will be going to show my receipt and get my 300 movie tickets and hope to exchange Amedeus for True Romance (if thats allowed)....I might try getting 2 other movies, if I can find goodfellas, or I'll try to ask if the sale is still on.

i think this sale is official, not an error.
i just called to have them set aside 2 of the list i don't own that i want to pick up later.
i asked if they were definitely the 2 disc versions and part of the $9.99 sale.
the rep told me they are but are priced 2 for $10 on sale.

Someone else mentioned this was a sale for the Oscars; so why no advertising?
I wonder if the execs one day said, "Let's see just how much product we can push by word of mouth alone."
Sounds like a cool experiment to me! More Zelda Stratagy guides! More $5 dvd's!

Returned to the same Best Buy (Arundel Mills) today to confirm it was still ongoing and to get in on their videogame clearance. Once again, everything went through with no probs. And, customer service gave me an extra four 300 dvd/ticket packs (they were located in a stand-alone Alexander display) to make up for the ones I'd forgotten to get yesterday.

Also, this time I noticed a note about Oscars on the screen when the cashier was ringing me up. So, I guess that lends a little credence to those tie-in rumors.

edit: Heh...sorry. Quick and sloppy cut & paste job = Barely comprehendable gibberish

Worked in Vienna, VA Best Buy. However a CSR removed the signage for the BOGO. I was still able to get the promotion honored considering the CSR jst scans the movies and hits enter.

The Unforgiven
Shawshank Redemption
Casablanca
Goodfellas

WOOT!

When I placed an order online yesterday I saw an ad for the Oscar sale. No idea what the discount was though as the link took me to a list of regularly-priced films.

I bought two titles online for in-store pickup and ended up paying $9.99 for each. I'm going back this afternoon to see if I can get the BOGO deal to work in-store at the Rancho Cucamonga location.

This is an A++ deal. Is this deal happening across all Best Buy's or is it YMMV whether your BB is doing the BOGO offer?

Well no Goodfellas so I didnt get any additional movies however I asked and there was the sale still going on. Obviously. Does it only work for the 9.99 movies though? Whats the official sale, all it says when it rings up is OSCAR SALE BOGO.

Anyway they wouldnt give me any 300 movie tickets which sucked. They said they didnt have any and they were only given out to people who bought the alexander dvd, not ANY dvd.

There is a complete list of titles on page 1, I believe, although my store had all the titles near the front on a swing fixture, at $9.99 each.

Well, the official display at my BB says Alexander, Vendetta and one other title. My BB had LOADS of them on the floor on Sun. Only chanced the tix with Vendetta (which I paid $9.99 for).

Grabbed acouple today, no tickets left though. I thought I was going to get King Kong 2 disc, but I guess it wasn't supposed to be on the display, as it rang up at 24.99.

Just got back. Got 6 movies for $30 (V, Constantine, Heat, Batman Returns, and then Batman and True Romance for my brother) and 6 300 preview disks. No problem.

I braved the snow yesterday afternoon to hit the BB in Alexandria, VA (Potomac Yards). Picked up Batman, Batman Returns, Casablanca and Mystic River for $20.98. I was planning to get these as enrollment titles from Columbia House, but this was cheaper. Thanks OP! I had the others on the list that I wanted. Unfortunately, I had just ordered Boogie Nights and Heat a couple of months ago during a DDD sale for $9.99 each. Oh well.

Sometime last year they had the Gold Hardcover TP Guide for $10 instead of $30. It probably didn't make the rounds here since it was a game thing instead of dvd. But it was pretty cool.

It's the old King Kong not the new one.
