I was on the fence about this deal. I had not purchased the new Box sets yet. I love all the Bond films, but I have all the previous releases ... I even double dipped because of the original 6 DVDs that came out prior to the last round of Box sets.

I clipped the coupon and drove over to Costco about 20 minutes away and realized I did not have my card. That was my sign to hold off ... I will eventually buy all the Bond movies again, but I figure they will all be released on HD-DVD or Blu-ray around the release of the next Bond movie.

When I was in line tonight, I may have found out why my Costco always has such a limited assortment of cheap dvd. One of the front end managers owns a video store and sells on ebay. She said they buy a lot of dvd there.

Guess that explains were they all go so fast.

I used to be worried about double dipping on dvds, but I think I have trippled dipped on the bond sets. each time I sold the old OOP box sets for 2x to 5x what I had paid for them.

If your smart enough to figure out a month before when new editions come out, you can pretty much upgrade for next to nothing. Even if you happen to get stuck with a worthless dvd, you can usually trade them in somewhere. FYE occasionally does a 4 for 1 deal.

Apparently this is company policy. Current when you call Costco general customer service they say if you did not receive you Passport coupons in the mail to ask for them at in store customer service desk.

Got all four Bond sets today for $136, minus a $45 rebate check on my Costco/Amex credit card. Hot dog! Dang, I love Costco.

They also had new 3-disc sets for $19.99@ of James Stewart (Bell, Book & Candle/Anatomy of a Murder/Man From Laramie) Humphrey Bogart, Rita Hayworth, and I think one other. Would have bought them had I not busted the bank on Bond. Next time...

I picked up the Passport book at my local Costco yesterday (Atlanta, GA). There was no coupon for the Bond sets. Is this offer location specific?

It wasn't specific to the Bond sets but rather Fox box sets, I believe. For me, it was next to the Disney DVD coupon.

The coupon for the Bond DVDs isn't in the Passport book of coupons. It's in a different set that came out about the middle of February.

What is the advantage of buying the Bond DVD Sets over the individual sets?

Not sure what you mean by Bond DVD sets vs individual sets. The sets Costco is selling are the same 5 movie sets that were released in November and December of last year. If by 'individual sets' you meant the individual movies, each movie in the sets has 2 discs whereas the 6 individual releases available now are only single disc versions that don't have the 2nd disc that contains bonus features.

I'm not a Costco member but I've bought a couple things online previously. I just got the coupon book in the mail (unsolicited) and the Fox DVD Collections coupon has a little red bar at the top that says "Also available at Costco.com". Upon searching there it seems to be an error and the only title shown is the Star Wars Trilogy. Too bad as I was thinking of getting Vol. 3.

Obviously, you've never used a Border's coupon to buy DVDS?

As for the Costco's return policy change, no one is really sure of what it is finally going to be...including their employees (it was only a few weeks ago Costco's PR people were denying any policy change was going to be made)... so it may only affect consumer electronics or it may become all inclusive.

Not true. It will apply to TVs, computers, cell phones, mp3 players, cameras, and camcorders. Check out the actual Costco Memo.

If that memo is true, then those of us on the east coast can still be grandfathered in if we buy soon.

Yes, I have and when the dumb Border's cashier asked me that, I responded in an smartass way where should I plug the DVD in.

Yes, that's the policy change being made this month...Some people at Costco are thinking it may become the store-wide policy in the near future (especially if there is no dramatic drop-offs in CE sales.)

So is this for all the Bond sets or only Volume 1?
