Yes...by Criterion, though, not Universal. That Universal disc has been out for a long time now. You want the new fancy anamorphic edition that Criterion just put out, not that old, crummy Uni disc.

edit-Oop, missed Five Cent Deposit's reply above.

They have several OOP discs included in a few of these sales. Babe: Pig in the City is one of 'em. Great movie and great price for that OOP disc.

How many of you have received Canadian versions in your order? I ordered the Red Dragon: Director's Edition dvd and received the Canadian version. :(

animatedude 02-19-07 03:51 AM

what's the difference between the US and the Canadian version?

EvlAsh 02-19-07 11:05 AM

As far as content goes, there should be no difference. But the packaging has everything printed in English and French, which makes it look cramped. Then again, it was only six bucks!

FILMCZY 02-19-07 11:51 AM

I look at that list of titles and realize how many of them need to be seriously remastered. Universal has no love for its back catalogue or their customers.

Well sometimes they do let go the DTS soundtrack to replace it with the French language track..

hmm now this sucks.btw, what kinda packaging does it have? thick amary case like Forest Gump?

anyone got the US version instead?

i wonder why this happened...does that mean the US and the Canadian have the same bar code?

EvlAsh 02-19-07 11:48 PM

Okay, now it's getting weird. My Red Dragon packaging is Canadian with the only rating logo being the Canadian 14 logo. To my surprise, upon opening, the discs are the US version (with MPAA rating and logo). Even the copyright includes Universal's US address.

animatedude,

To answer a couple of your questions, the US and Canadian versions Red Dragon have the same bar code. The dvd case is the same thickness as a double Alpha, but it's designed like your standard dvd case. I guess it can be considered a thick amary case. Anyway, the tray for the second disc is attached to the spine and when the case is open, it lays flat on top of the insert.

hmm iam thinking of ordering Red Dragon from buy.com...did anyone order Red Dragon from buy.com recently? has anyone ordered Red Dragon online lately?
