$2.99-$6.99 DVDs found at Jewel/Albertsons
My local Jewel grocery store in Chicago (a/k/a Albertsons in some markets) had two huge dump bins of Warner Bros, Lion's Gate, and other studios. Most of the DVDS were Canadian editions.
Lots to look thru, but here is a sampling of what I found:
- V for Vendetta (WS 2 disc) $6.99
- Batman Begins (WS w/bonus disc of The Batman cartoon) $6.99
- Alexander (WS) $5.99
- Courtship of Eddie's Father $2.99
- Greystoke The Legend Of Tarzan $4.49
- Helen Of Troy (1956) $2.99
- Circus $2.99

Thanks! My Albertson's had this. There were some really great deals in there. They had just about every 'Best Of SNL' DVD for $1.79 and countless other deals. All discs did seem to be Canadian.

DVD Talk Special Edition
I can confirm that this seems to be going on at most of the stores. Of the 5 I visited, only 1 of them didn't have a special display set-up (they did have a small selection of the discounted DVDs).
I can also confirm that the majority of them seem to be from Canada.
What I picked up:
Store #1
A Very Long Engagement - $5.99
Beyond The Sea - $4.49
Store #2
The Final Cut - $4.49
Girl With A Pearl Earring - $4.49
Store #3
A Bronx Tale (OOP) - $5.99
Store #4
Eve's Bayou (Signature Series) - $3.49
SNL - Best Of Alec Baldwin - $1.79
Double Whammy (Dennis Leary, Steve Buscemi) - $1.79
Store #5
Nothing
Other things I saw, but did not pick up included
My Big Fat Independent Movie - $4.49
Constant Gardener - $6.99
Dawn Of The Dead (Divimax) - $4.49
Master & Commander (Single-Disc) - $6.99
Friday Night Lights - $6.99
The Rundown - $6.99
King Kong (Single-Disc) - $6.99
V For Vendetta (Single-Disc) - $6.99
For a lot of these I only saw full-screen editions and on others the French language on the package was more prevalent (like on the spine).
I will probably hit up a couple more by work tomorrow, but generally it seems like the stores had the same titles.
Thanks to the OP.

Circus is the film with Famke Jannsen (sp?) and the Jewel store was on Ashland and Wellington in Chicago.
From reading the last report, it seems like my store had a completely different mix.

I went into an Albertsons today which previously did not have these DVDs and they had a fresh new box of them. So, it might be worth re-checking stores for anyone still interested in this.
