Higherlander Seasons 1-6 for $90 is REALLY tempting me.
|
I didn't think I was going to order anything, but then I caved and bought 3rd Rock from the Sun: Season 6 and Astro Boy. Thankfully that's all I wanted from this sale.
|
I can't decide. Should I get...
Roseanne 1-4 or Rosanne 1-2 AND 3rd Rock 1-2? |

In light of the fact I paid a total of about $126 for all six seasons, I'd agree. ;) |
I would really like the Wim Wenders set, but there isn't anything else I want (I already have the Herzog one from last time). :(

Good luck getting undamaged packages though. Titus is tempting. |
is the Wim Weners Set good or is too "art house"?
What about the following: 1.British War Collection 2.Carry On Collection 3.Alec Guiness Collection 4.Ealing Comedy Collecton Am think about the "Highlander" series as blind buy but DVDtalk rates the sries of as "rent" it only, so maybe not that good I may pay up the entire Threes Company |
Is Peter Sellers Collection good? I have only seen this guy in the pink panther films.
|
I picked up a few seasons of Three's Company.
I thought I'd heard the Roseanne DVDs are syndication cut - can anyone verify this? |
Thanks for the heads-up, RevKarl...just did the same.

I love Carry On but I am hopeful that we may get a better version soon. That is I know some places in catalogs offering collections that are to be released in March but I do not see these at any online store except from amazon sellers and they have been doing boots of these there for some time. A Complete Carry On was released in the UK a few months ago, more complete than this set with 13 films on 7 discs. The Complete UK set has 30 films plus Carry On Laughing, commentary and other special features. If you do import, get that.

Thanks for the tip. Looks like I will skip the Wenders collection altogether. May get the British War Collection and Ealing Comedy Collection as well as Alec Guiness and Peter Sellers. What do you guys think about pairing the Werner Herzog Collection and the Evil Dead 1/2 set? These would be total blind buy for me. Are Herzog's movie any good or they too art house. I read some good reviews onthe movies evil dead but why does the set have such a high MSRP of $70 for two old horror movies. The set itself has only two disc for the movies and no other disc with more special features. |
When does this sale end ?

However, the other Herzog set ... I don't think I'd have people start there. This is Herzog at his strangest and most enigmatic. "Even Dwarves" will test the patience of many viewers. "Heart of Glass" is a strange story that feels like everyone in the cast is hypnotized ... wait a minute, everyone in the cast really is hypnotized :) The documentaries are beautiful and hypnotic, but I can see where they would bore others to death. "Strozcek" is probably the most accessible movie, but it too gets really strange by the end Spoiler:

DDD lists them separately for $11.99 each, but the 2-pack for $41.99? And according to the listings, the 2-pack doesn't include anything extra that the single releases don't have.
From what i can see it is the double book version. The image does match but it says "Double Book" and it also matches the Double Book MSRP and UPC. |
