I won't be surprised to see this at Circuit City or some store for $13.99 first week, similar to Sony's 2-disc release of the Da Vinci Code.

Yeah, I preordered but am thinking about cancelling in hopes of some store exclusive the first week like the Bond Girls DVD that came with the last Bond film.

Actually Sony kept the shared rights for the newly produced Bond Films. Fox distributes most other films although Sony may have kept control of a few other franchises like The Pink Panther. I believe Sony had bought MGM but resold it to another consortium of investors.

i preordered with another dvd for the free super saver shipping. Does anyone know how amazon handles shipping of a preorder and in stock item when free super saver shipping is used? Will i receive both items in March when Casino Royale is released or will I receive the in stock item first. Thanks for any help

There's only 90 minutes of special features with no audio commentary. Is Sony turning into the next WB on the commentary front? I hope not. I don't know why the studios feel like they now need to do a rush job on these DVD's now.

This is so getting a double dip.

It's been my experience they that will ship them separately for no charge. You'll get the one in stock now and they'll ship Bond when it comes out in March.

probably better to wait several more months to buy this as they may come out with an extended director's cut version with some additional disc of special features.

Sony bought MGM with a consortium of investors. They also had home video distribution rights to MGM titles as part of that deal but didn't meet specified sales levels allowing MGM to opt out of the distribution deal after the first year and go with Fox. As per special arrangement, Sony maintains rights to the first two new "Craig" Bond films only - although they might also have rights to the third.
