Amazon.com DVDs Used and New

This may be old news to most, but you can save quite a bit by buying from 3rd parties off of amazon.com Search for a film, then click "used and new" there are usually "new" ones that are factory sealed for as little as half the Amazon price. If you are willing to wait a while for longer shipping time. Occasionally shipping adds up to a bit but it all depends on how far you are. I've bought probably 1/4 of my collection this way, and never had a problem. I just got these, all factory sealed:
Air Force One $4.49
Phenomenon $6.99
Fifth Element (Ultimate Edition) $6.25
Judge Dredd $8.94
The Cable Guy $3.28

There's also a website at www.imdb.com that you can use to look up info about movies before you buy them.

I found this place at www.google.com where you can type a word in and they'll give you every website on the internets that has that word! It's incredible!

It seems to me in just the last couple of weeks Amazon has raised its shipping costs considerably for third-party sales. I have bought quite a few books and movies through them and the shipping was around 2-3 dollars for media mail per item. I went to buy something a few days ago and for 2 items the shipping would have been over $10.00. Just a paperback book and a DVD, both shipping from within a few states of where I live, so I may not be shopping there as much.

Yeah, I used to buy a lot of stuff through Amazon used, but I just went book shopping and bought through Amazon new. When you add up all the shipping costs, buying through Amazon new (over $25 w/ free shipping) it's definitely less.

You must have chosen expedited shipping. The marketplace shipping has only gone up 10 cents in the past two years. DVDs/CDs are $2.59 apiece and books are $3.49.

I actually opted for the shot, no need to take a pill every day.

I guess I'll join in.
Ok. I assume a woman can't be considered a d*ck, right?
So, what would a woman be considered?

I'm leary about buying used from a 3rd party unless it's a verrrry reliable source.
What 3rd party did you get the DVDs from?
I also assume you only bought them from someone with a 100% rating.
Oh yeah, I'm a Stallone fan but I don't even have Judge Dredd.

You just have to buy from sellers with good feedback. Most sellers with great feedback (say 97%+ with a fair number of ratings) are more reliable than most retailers. In fact, Amazon sells their returns and damaged products under the seller name warehouse_deals, and their feedback percentage is 96%. J&R Music is 95%, Crutchfield 94%, Office Depot 89% and CompUSA 86%.

Actually, the money goes through Amazon (unlike eBay) and they guarantee delivery. In the rare circumstances where I didn't receive the item in the specific time period Amazon refunded me my money.
