I've been debating for a while now getting the X-file sets - I never watched the show during the original run, but watched the 1st season a couple of weekends ago and have gotten into it. I was planning on picking up a season here and there whenever there was a good sale or coupon, but with the buy one, get one free at DDD, I think I'm just going to order them all at once since the price comes out to $18 and change each, and I doubt I'll ever find them that low again.

Problem is, there are Nine sets, and I'm trying to find a 10th since it will be free anyway. However, everything on the list that I'm interested in I already have, and there's not really anything else I would want, even as a blind buy. So I'm think I'm just going to pick up a 10th set and Ebay it. Anyone have an opinion on which title would be the easiest to sell or possibly go for a good price on ebay or half.com?

I thought about getting Planet of the Apes - Legacy set, but I already have the original Evolution CE box set and have recently watched it, so I doubt I would watch the new set anytime soon, and the old set would probably be worth next to nothing If I tried to unload it. Despite that, would this be worth an upgrade?

I also considered American Dad, since I love Family Guy, but the couple of episodes I've seen didn't do anything for me - it's not something I would normally purchase. Maybe I just wasn't in the mood, or either the couple of episodes I watched just weren't that good.

So I can go with either of those, depending on whether the POTA set is worth the upgrade, or rent/borrow some American Dad discs to see if it's something I would like to purchase.

Other than that, I can just buy something else that would sell easily, bringing down the cost of the X-files sets even more - this is the direction I'm leaning towards now.

Any advice?

Thanks,

Roy

Thanks for the reply,

Are you recommending this as a blind buy or as something I could easily sell and recoup some of the costs of the X-files sets?

^ I'm assuming he's suggesting it as a blind buy. Millennium was created by the same person who created The X-Files, Chris Carter. I just ordered all three seasons myself.

Very happy they did that since it saves me from returning items and having to purchase them again.

Was told they wouldn't and had to repurchase them and sent the others back. Now have to choose if it is worth it for $27.

I am considering buying "The Pretenders" as a blind blind. Anyone here would recommend this show or it is not worth owning?

Wonderfalls or Point Pleasant???

Hey everyone,

I'm putting in yet another order with this DDD deal. I just can't stop!! I swear it's like crack and I'm a freaking addict here...

I'm looking for a 4th DVD to balance out my order of Millennium S2 & S3 and Roswell S3.

Should I pick up Wonderfalls or Point Pleasant???

Thanks,

I completed the X-Files series by picking up Seasons 7 & 9 for $36 and change, couldn't beat the price for anything. I hadn't planned on picking up these set due to marginal reviews, but at these prices, it's a no brainer (or a least, the marketing folks achieved their goal!)

Wonderfalls no question. A fantastic show and a great DVD set (no cliffhanger ending either).

That said, it is still a very good price.

Highly recommend: Charlie Chan Collection, Vol. 1 and J. Mansfield coll. At $20 a piece you would be neglecting your collection by not getting these.

If you look at the upc code listed on DDD it is the one that matches the thinpaks not the original keepcase sets- I dont always trust DDD descriptions as they are occasionally wrong on things like that & anamorphic or not, etc.-

I guess ymmv depending on the CSR. The person I spoke with had no problem modifying my order for the Bob Newhart season 3 and Mary Tyler Moore Season 4 for the current B1G1 free sale. I already received Bob Newhart but Mary Tyler Moore was back ordered. The CSR canceled and placed a new order for $4.16 so the price for both would equal the B1G1 price.

I've never watched Point Pleasant but I am four episodes into Wonderfalls. I just bought it during the 20% off sale ($24), I wish I would have waited now. Oh well.

Anyway, Wonderfalls is a great series so far, well worth $15. Plus you should be able to dump it on ebay for at least $15 afterwards.

For what it's worth, it's not a kid's show. I would rate it PG-13, a significant amount of cursing and some adult situations (talking about orgasms and a couple lesbians).

As for what I'll buy... I've spent a lot of money lately on DVDs (for me) so I can't spend too much, but I'll pick up the Errol Morris First Person series ($27.54), still trying to decide on the second DVD.

Sweet deal! Finished off my Buffy sets by picking up Seasons 5 and 7. I think I've developed a man-crush on DDD.

I found this out one day too late, I guess it's not too bad, I only paid an extra $6-$7. Picked up the last 2 seasons of Angel.
