Still would be better off going with current deals at DVD Planet, Buy.com, or DDD.

Wherehouse.com is wayyyy to expensive, and the 25% off just brings the prices down to where they should already be, not much of a bargain.

Thanks! I'll be able to use my FYE giftcards for this deal. Also, the trade-in prices at wherehouse.com should be the same you would get instore at Wherehouse/FYE/SaturdayMatinee/Coconuts and you get a giftcard good at any of the stores as well as online.

Yeah with the other sales on DVDs the only things worthy would be used CDs and MAYBE video games. Or a few out of print things that can be found.

Awesome. My account was credited a couple
of days ago for all my dvd/cd trade ins.
And this will be my only holiday spending
spree for myself. What to buy..What to buy.

Too bad they do not sell game systems though.

If they didn't charge tax or shipping then this would be a good deal. But when you factor those things it takes the edge off the deal. But there are deals to be found if you can find them.

I'll probably buy some things, since I have gift cards to blow. At 25% off, their prices won't be too terrible on recent releases which are on sale.

These sales are great! You want to get used DVDs with the coupon. It helps that I trade in DVDs there (I had $25.77 credit) as they give decent credit and have good used prices on these sales.

Most of the time 25% off used is cheaper than the DDD sale, and stuff from wherehouse is almost always near mint condition.

No games this order, though.

My order:

Gojira: The Original Japanese Masterpiece/Godzilla, King of the Monsters [2 Discs]
Used DVD - Price: $8.24

Collective Soul ~ Home: A Live Concert Recording with the Atlanta Symphony Youth Orchestra
Used CD - Price: $6.74

Godfather DVD Collection [5 Discs] [Widescreen]
Used DVD - Price: $20.99

X-Files: Fight the Future [DTS]
Used DVD - Price: $5.24

Rambo: First Blood Part II [Special Edition] [Widescreen]
Used DVD - Price: $3.74

Total Bought: $44.95
Credit Applied: ($-25.77)
Shipping: $6.95
Sales Tax (MI 6.00%): $3.11
Total: $29.24

Or more like $23.50 each after shipping and tax, which brings it in line with most other retailers. The shipping and tax pretty much kill this sale.

With the FYE 15% off sale, I would agree with you. But I ordered 5 items and saved $40. Shipping was only 6.95 and tax 7.11. Now I agree that many (if not all) of these items have better deals, but the more you get the better the deal is (to maximize shipping). And for those of us with gift cards to blow, this deal is AMAZING!!!

That worked out pretty well! But I'd ask for a refund on the tax. They charged you tax on the full purchase price instead of what you actually paid. Since your credit was more than your total, the tax should be zero (and you should still have a $6.78 credit).

No they didn't. I'm not sure why you think they did. They charged tax on the shipping, which they truly shouldn't. But 5.6% tax on 119.93 is $6.72. I guess I overpaid 39 cents, but I'm not going to argue that...

EDIT: I believe you're thinking I used store credit from trade-ins, which I did not. It was a gift card. So the tax should indeed be on my full total, then my gift card applied. But with store credit from trade-ins, I think they deduct the credit value first then calculate the tax off of the remaining total...
