How can a show based on this manage to capture people's attention for 5 seasons? Can anyone enlighten me on this. Is this show worth buying?
Great show. Clever and intelligent writing. Very good acting. Watched it via rentals and enjoyed it, but, for whatever reason, I am not interested in purchasing it. Just don't know if it's rewatchable for me, although I would like to see the last episode again.

Did a 2nd order yesterday for new releases:

Quantum Leap 5
Forbidden Planet CE
Advs. of Superman Seasons 5 and 6

I just noticed that below the special offer button is a "no, I don't want the offer, just send me order confirmation". I don't click that either; I guess I'm a little paranoid about clicking on anything that isn't directly related to my order. Perhaps DDDVD just says to itself, "This guy doesn't want to hear from us, so let's not send him any order info." What do you think?

I think you may be on to something there. On my first order I just closed the "special offer" window and never received confirmation email. On my second order I clicked "no thanks" button and received email confirmation instantly.

Do you know any tricks to invoke the "SHIPPING" email? The only item I've received so far is a 1080 CD OSKAR, and its status is marked "STILL PROCESSING". The rest of that order shows an "Estimated Arrival date: 11/23/06 - 11/28/06". And no, I didn't order the Twilight Zone Collection!

That really sucks about the sex feet under set...I ordered it on tues. and now i realize i could have saved an additional $12-$15 bucks off. I am not gonna call them cause i dont want to put up with any of that and i am still kinda worried i have not received an e-mail confirmation and nothing has shipped yet....I wish they would do what amazon does when the price is lowered on an item before it ships...oh well, i just hope my order arrives in good condition.

Too late, I already ordered the R1 from DDD. It was only 7.55 after discount though, so even if I double dip it's not like I lost much.

Question:

What sort of special equipment is needed to play DVD with the "DTS" designation.
I just have regular 25 inch TV and a non-fancy progressive scan DVD player. I am about to buy this DVD that is offered in regular Dolby or DTS and both at same price. If I get the one with DTS, will it play ok on regular TV with no speakers??

Which DVD are you looking at? DTS is a special encoding for surround speakers but as far as I am aware all of those versions also have a regular doldy track which is what you would need with your setup.

The other version has a Dolby Digital 5.1 along with French and Spanish 2.0 tracks. Other than that everything else is the same. If you have a need for the French or Spanish tracks, I would go with that version. Otherwise I would get the DTS version in case you upgrade to Surround Sound in the future. Just make sure you play the regular track until then.

As stated by the others, you should be fine since the DVD includes other audio tracks. But I highly recommend getting a cheap receiver and surround speakers. You can spend less than $100 total these days. The surround sound experience is AMAZING on most movies. I can't listen to standard TV audio anymore...

The website clearly states that a item or and order can be canceled up to 24 hours before the ship date, however when I called, I was told nothing could be done. The lady said she couldn't cancel the order even if it was back ordered and DDD doesn't price adjust sale items. Therfore, I told her that I would just reorder the item and return the more expensive one. She went on to tell me I couldn't, because I could only use the coupon once. Once I told her I already placed multiple orders using diffrent coupons, I was advised to call back tomorrow and maybe they would be able to help me then........ Absolutely Astonishing!!
the same thing happened to me last sale with the x-files (price dropped after i already ordered it). you are supposed to be able to cancel an item if it is backordered or out of stock so i think the particular rep you dealt with didn't know what she was talking about!

what i would do is call customer service again; only tell them you want to cancel your order for SFU (don't tell them you are going to re-order the item). wait for an e-mail confirmation that the order was indeed cancelled. then place your order for the item again. that's what i did about the x-files set and i didn't get any hassle from DDD customer service about it.

I'm getting a fantastic set for a low price, and I'm getting it right now.
It is an entirely intelligent. If anything, why do you not already have the films if you enjoy them? If you enjoy them, there's no point in putting a film off for a few dollars' sake.

according to their website, Convoy is still a top ten seller, although I haven't seen anyone here order it. It was a top 10 last summer as well if you remember.
