Case in point: I bought a TV set during the last sale and didn't even open it until August. That's when I realize I had been given a set with two of the first disc and no second disc. It was too late to return it.....

....Sorry if anyone feels I'm threadcapping; those aren't my intentions. I'm just genuinely curious on the motives and mindset of those with huge, expensive orders. I'll probably be putting my lone order in on Tuesday, so I can "contribute" here then.
Defects are definitely a possible issue. I've only ever had one defect in any digital media (CD/DVD) so I feel like the risk is small; I'll probably ruin one myself before I get another defect. It is something to think about though.

There are a couple of another downsides - decreasing prices and more potential to get caught on the wrong side of a double dip. For example, I scored on the complete Buffy set because I had none previously, but not on the upcoming complete Alias set because I've been picking up season sets - which are as yet unwatched.

All in all though, buying mass quantities has worked for me up to now; over time though I'll inevitably (he says that now ! ) slow down just because of space, time, and there really is a finite amount of material I'm interested in. Guess my finite is a large number though.

Cool to share philosphies though; would be boring if everyone had the same take on everything.

Just a heads-up for Da Ali G purchasers... I noticed that the individual season 1 and season 2 is slightly cheaper than the packaged season 1 and 2.
After discount:
Season 1 17.24 + Season 2 17.24 = 34.48
Season 1 + Season 2 package = 35.98

Sorry if already posted.

Nice man,

Am watching the HD-DVD of King Kong as I type this... It looks good, better than the DVD counterpart, but not as big of an improvment as an Xbox game to an Xbox 360 game... It sure does look nice and clear though

I'm not sure that qualifies for the word "just".

50 flicks for $475 is an awesome deal. I'm debating picking that up myself at some point, even though I already own a bunch of 'em.

My Farscape Starburst Volume 10 was cancelled because they don't know if they are going to get anymore in. It's not like it's an out of print title.

yeah folks, be careful... I had that shopping cart error happen to me... I zero'd out the quantity of one of the items in my cart.. the original verification email didnt have it on their, but I just got my "your order has shipped" email and that item was listed, and I was charged for it. Spoke to DDD customer service (shocked they didn't sound Indian this time), and they couldnt do anything about it at this time as the items have shipped other than send me a return label...

Btw, did anyone start a price match request thread yet?
Anybody?

That's still a big "just." It is a tempting set, but I'm a bit turned off by the exclusion of the cases. I'm shallow like that.

What do you think, I placed an order last night, but have not gotten any e-mail confirmation, but the order is listed on DDD's site. Also I'm now worried about the cart removal thing, for some I clicked "remove" and the dvd title would still be in my cart, but show as zero quantities, no price, then they'd disappear when I just put zero for the quantities, so from then on I did that. Oy vey if they charge me...

Yes, search for "massacre II" but choose the correct GRUESOME Edition priced higher. DDD displays the same box art for both versions.

EDIT: same as searching massacre ii
