Probably cause I was being pissy about the price hikes, and didn't have all the nifty FAQ info. All said and done, DDD and I made up, and they got my money... and more money... and I keep finding things I missed. Am still hoping the drop the couple buck increases all over the place, but they dropped the biggies for me, so I am in $1000... thus far. Damn.

I did finally go from 'New Member' to 'Cool New Member' after 4 years... :-)

I know that when I do it it's either forgetfullness or lack of sales resistance.

I am pretty pissed by their change in the NBA title prices. These were supposed to be on sale for another two weeks or so. I was gonna buy couple of the dynasty series. knicks and 76ers sets were priced at $25 yesterday. now they are $35 each which makes it more expensive with the code.

I understand an end to a sale, but it is just not right to increase the prices during a sale. DDD lost my respect.

Does the LOTR LE set just the 3 movies shrinkwrapped together or does it actually have a box to house all 3 movies?

Wish they would bring down the price to the original $62.01 so they could beat buy.com, I want to give them my money.

Btw, did anyone start a price match request thread yet?

No not even close to having watched it all. That's the case even with things from last Nov as well. For me its about building up a nice library; I don't feel like I have to watch everything within a certain timeframe because I will get to all of if eventually.

With a "library" I have something I can draw from over time, lend to family/friends (they better be close friends!), etc.

I never really got into buying VHS, laserdisc, etc. So (HDDVD, BluRay nonwithstanding) stocking up on DVD this way makes sense as something that should last a while.

Plus I absolutely can't stand broadcast TV format (don't even have cable/sat - there's $60 or more a month for DVDs right there); having a lot of flexibility really works out really well for me.

I have my orders shipped to my P.O. Box. It seems that whenever I have placed an order for more than $200 they upgrade shipment to UPS for security reasons. Of course that makes it hard to get the package because UPS does not deliver packages to the post office. Also I do think the packages survive shipment better when they are smaller.

I believe Buffy was a limited box set, so last sale was the time to buy it.

Actually, I heard they started producing MORE of the Buffy sets, but some retailers don't have any.

Amazon.com has it in stock, for a whopping 172.xx, yikes... I paid 111.12 last november.

Do DDD price match Amazon and more importantly to match it before the 20% discount.

I was thinking of purchasing "Fawlty Towers - The Complete Series" - $43.19 @ DDD and its 29.99 @ Amazom. So if they matched it to 29.99 then it come to ~$23.00 after coupon.

So would they do that?
