My monthly 60 mile jaunt covering three stores this morning produced these new titles. Widescreen except where noted.

Coon Rapids:

The Statement (Michael Caine)
Mary Reilly (Julia Roberts)
Fail Safe (Henry Fonda) SE
Masked and Anonymous (Jeff Bridges, Bob Dylan)
Grateful Dawg (FS, Jerry Garcia & David Grisman)

And from the Brooklyn Center store, these MGM titles:

Moulin Rouge (FS, Jose Ferrer 1952)
Elektra (Irene Papas, 1962)
Black Stallion Returns
Jean de Florette (Montand, DePardieu)
Desperately Seeking Susan
Robocop 3
A Kiss Before Dying (Robert Wagner, 1956)
Heavy Traffic (1973 Animation feature, FS)
Cadillac Man
Eight Men Out
Coming Home (Jane Fonda, Jon Voight 1978)
Once Upon a Crime (FS)
Alexander the Great (Burton, March, Bloom 1956)

Knollwood (St. Louis Park) was a dry hole.

Nice to see the MGM stuff showing up...particularly titles in the "World Films" series (Elektra, Jean de Florette.)

Worth every penny, and then some. I shelled out a decent amount for it on release date.

I have yet to see any of the World Films in this area.

It's a YMMV thing. I picked up Gangster No.1 for $4.

I forgot to mention that I was able to pick up the Easy Rider and Stand By Me Deluxe Editions. That was awesome.

Went by my local BL yesterday for the first time in about 2 weeks - they had about 20 DVDs total, mostly old stuff, but they also had a couple I hadn't seen before. Flatliners was the only one I was marginally interested in ($3), but I left it. No MGM stuff. I hope I didn't miss a big restock and subsequent sellout. They seem to go pretty fast.

Saw the following new MGM dvds at Biglots. They are $3 each:

Species
RoboCop 3
Flamingo Kid
A Guy Thing
Hannibal (Fullscreen)
Desperately Seeking Susan
Married to the Mob
F/X (has both widescreen and fullscreen formats, but not sure if it is 16x9)
Spaceballs CE 2 disk with slipcover
China Moon
Wicker Park

They had many others, but I have been to so many Biglots my brain is fried so I couldn't remember them all and my wallet is empty....

My local Big Lots had a major restock since the last time I went there. Last time, they only had about 2 shelves full of DVDs. This time, about 10 shelves! I picked up the following:

Can't Hardly Wait re-release (switched it from a flipper with WS and special features on 1 side and FS on the other side to a single-sided WS with the special features; the artwork for the re-release is different.)
Casualties of War Extended Cut
The Company
D.E.B.S. SE (Shut up! )
A Love Song for Bobby Long
Monster 2-disc SE
Nine Lives
Owning Mahowny
Punchline
Silver City
Three Burials of Melquiades Estrada
Where the Truth Lies Unrated Theatrical Version

A pretty good haul at $3 a movie!

The new MGM assortment showed up in Nashua this week. Got a bunch at $3, which is nice since previously they were $4.

Only title I saw that has not been listed yet:
The French Lieutenant's Woman

...and F/X is non-anamorphic to those who were wondering. There are a few FS and non-anamorphic titles in this new assortment.

That reminds me. There were about 6 copies of Castle Keep at my store. Unfortunately, they were all full screen. Anyone been able to find a WS copy?

My BL buying strategy is now to buy everything I don't have that I'd be mildly interested in. Then after I get home, I'll read a few reviews and figure out which titles are in their OAR, anamorphic, etc. and figure out what I don't want and just return it later on the next visit.

These titles are not listed anamorphic, anyone know if they are?
The Mean Season
Cuba
Pit And The Pendulum
Joyride
Jean de Florette

I believe these are, but they aren't labeled properly either:
Single White Female
French Lieutenant's Woman

^I still have not found a WS copy of Castle Keep, been seeing restock of FS copies ever since Thanksgiving.

Picked up "The Pit And The Pendulum" Of MGM's Midnite Movies series. Has anybody seen "Planet Of The Vampires". Not that it is part of the three dollar sale. Curious.

Saw a few nice MGM titles---most of them I had already, except for Kurosawa's Rhapsody in August. Nice deal for $3.

I've been doing this for a while. Many is the time in the past when I wish I'd bought something, but passed up on it. The only thing I won't buy is FS (which there were a few titles I wanted had they been in WS).

Just bought 47 titles including
Semi-Tough
Once Bitten
Pit and Pendulum
Nero (been looking for this one)
Punchline
F/X 2
Salvador S.E.
Die Monster Die
Moulin Rouge (FS, Jose Ferrer 1952)
Elektra (Irene Papas, 1962)
A Kiss Before Dying (Robert Wagner, 1956)
Heavy Traffic (1973 Animation feature, FS)
Cadillac Man
Eight Men Out
Coming Home (Jane Fonda, Jon Voight 1978)
Alexander the Great (Burton, March, Bloom 1956)

Really wanted, but can't find:
Fail Safe (Henry Fonda) SE
Panic Room 3 disc
The Howling S.E. ( With slipcase!)
The People vs. Larry Flint ( With slipcase!)
The Fog S.E. ( Original version)
Robocop 3,2

I bought Heavy Traffic too which is not OAR so it's going back. Out of the 30 I bought, it's the only one I'm sure about so far.

Trevor, if you still have those promo discs I was interested in, we could work out a trade if you want. The 3 BL near me, seem to get alot of everything listed here.
Let me know...

Sounds good. Also, I've actually made progress in organizing my exclusives a bit, hope to get that completely finished during May.
