Memento(2-Disk LE; They actually had AT LEAST 5 copies of this, I w as shocked considering how good of a deal this is, I already have a copy But I picked up one more just in case...) League of Their Own: SE River Runs Through It: Deluxe Edition, Monster: SE, Crazy in Alabama: SE, Starship Troopers 2: SE. Also I saw Urban legend(WS/FF), I Know What You Did Last Summer (WS/FF), Out of Reach (Steven Seagal STV flick), Meltdown (Pretty decent Die-Hard rip-off starring Jet Li) and others. Still can not find the Batman serials collection but thats ok since honestly its probably something I would never even watch. Big Lots is defintiely awesome though for getting these great titles. GRRR. |
The three Big Lots near where I live haven't restocked in a month. No love here in the northeast either.

The one I go to just recently got a lot of different anime titles. |
Hi, I am a long time lurker of this thread and finally joined so I can post.
I would like to thank you all for all the info. I have been able to pick up a load of movies at BL at great prices. I am still looking for The Band Wagon Rebel Without a Cause Giant East of Eden Hopefully I will run across them soon. I am sure there are others, I will have to reread through the posts to see what others are finding. I did find Strangers on a Train this past week. After reading some of the posts, I wish I would have picked up the other copy they had. It looks like others are still looking for it. If I get back to that store and they still have a copy, I will grab it. Thanks for helping me spend money!! |
Yeah, if any of you guys find an extra copy of Strangers on a Train please pick it up for me. It would be greatly appreciated.

Absolutely nothing in Southern California stores. At least a couple in OC. Seems like ghetto country don't get good stuff

What's the consensus on the "previously enjoyed" discs? I can't bring myself to buy any of these. Maybe, if they were $2. |
I was their the other day Big Lots in Lorain Ohio I didnt look at all but I saw "The Perfect Score" as it was in the front.
|
I only made it out to 1 BL this weekend and did not find any new anime on your guys lists. I really enjoyed the hunt for the batman serial so now I have decied to find starship tropper 2. So thats what I am looking for now. I also have never seen any of the mythical james dean titles. I am hitting the BL I missed over the weekend in the next day or 2 so hopefully I will see some more anime for you guys.
|
Neil,
I just saw Starship Troopers 2 at a couple of BL this past Saturday. If you can't find it, maybe I can pick it up for you. The "hunt" is part of the fun :) |

I purchased Murderball from Big Lots and it was in a Blockbuster case. Played fine.

Nuts, neil, too bad I didn't check here before heading out this morning, I could've gotten SST2 for you easy. gonna hit my local stores real quick tho, we'll see what happens.
PMing everyone who's found stuff for me, I've narrowed the field a bit further by myself |

The Big Lots in my area hasn't had much of anything the past couple months, but I don't frequently check. Seeing some of the things you guys have found, I may have to make a stop sometime this week, I'll let you know what I find.
|
Just for fun I found Mobile Suit Gundam v7. What the hell good v7 of the original series will do me (much like v10 of Wing) remains to be seen.
|
I found Momento and the batman '43 for $3.00 in Belle vernon PA...
I know they had planetes 1 and 3 if anyone is interested, as well as a bunch of other anime, i will take another trip tomorrow and write more down, I am willing to pick them up and ship em out if anyone is interested... Nick |

That's another one I wanted, Murderball. Good doc. I bought Broken Flowers, the only copy I've seen in my area for $3 Previously Viewed. The disc looks as if it was never rented, no scratches / smudges, that I could see. |

If you want to get it from BL, it would probably be better to go to a b&m store than to trade for it. |

The BL nearest me has tons of anime. I saw Planetes, but not sure which one. I also saw 3 of the Yu-Gi-Oh 1st complete season tins for $13. I'm not much into anime, but my son likes it.

Found a motherload of Sony restock today in the Goffstown store. Multiple (at least 5) copies of almost everything that's been seen lately, Memento, Batman serials, River Runs Through It, Monster SE, Steamboy, etc. The only thing I think I didn't see was Larry Flynt and the McQueen set.
Picked up a couple anime titles for whomever was looking for them, I've sent you email. |
basaro, I don't suppose you saw a copy of Strangers on a Train did ya?

This was a restock of Sony titles, all the same stuff that's already been spotted over the past couple months. |
Yeah, I don't think I've ever seen the Warner batches in my area either. They should come around eventually I guess.
|
I now have extra copies of:
Mars Daybreak Vol.5 Mobile Suit Gundam Seed Movie #1 The Empty Battlefield Batman (1943 serials) if anyone wants them... |
I've been to nearly every St. Louis-area Big Lots (sans Festus and taking a trip to Quincy IL/Hannibal MO), and nothing for Warner shipments at all (and only two stores got the Paramount stuff, but not much of it). So far, only one store has a TON of anime, while others have been VERY scant for anything (ie. the remodeling Alton store, and Granite City had NOTHING). Friday, I'm going to recheck two stores and cross my fingers to find a few things (namely the s-CRY-ed Anime Legends volumes and the last volume of Overman King Gainer, which I've been hunting for, for awhile). :)
Myself, after noticing a small Bandai anime replenishment at one BL, I snagged s-CRY-ed (Anime Legends 2-disc version) - Vol. 3 (which has the last 2 discs of the series) which was amazingly $3. UPDATE (FRIDAY 2/01/08): Hit all of the Big Lots in St. Louis again, as a few did a minor DVD replenishment, but nothing I bought sadly that I wanted. However, did pick up a few things from my list used (pretty much new) from a nearby FYE, which changed their used prices on a handful of things that Big Lots/DG carries. UPDATED LIST! I'm looking for: .hack/SIGN - Vols. 1, 4 s-CRY-ed (Anime Legends 2-disc sets) - Vols. 1 (if possible) Tsukikage Ran - Vol. 4 Dan Doh (2-disc) - Vol. 3 IGPX - Vol. 6 Please PM me, if you've found any of these (and if you're looking for something in particular, as a few stores have been cleared out of darn near everything, but others have some anime, and a few Sony titles). |
Hey all, here is what I was able to find and buy @ the Big Lots in Torrance, CA (on Sepulveda and Figueroa):
American Outlaws - 4.00 (one and only copy) Out of Reach - 3.00 (one and only copy) Monty Python's And Now For Something Completely Different - 3.00 (saw 3+ copies) A History of Violence - 4.00 (previously viewed, but in a regular dvd case and only one fingerprint; saw another in a blockbuster case) Magma - 3.00 (one and only copy) Bottoms Up - 3.00 (saw more than 5 copies) Iron Eagle - 3.00 (saw more than 5 copies) The Squid and the Whale - 3.00 (snagged copy in a standard dvd case, saw 3+ copies in a blockbuster case) Silver City - 2.00 (saw a couple) I also bought 4 1.00 3 feature dvds: Born to Win, Gold, Death Sentence - 1.00 Til the Clouds Roll By, Pot O' Gold, His Girl Friday - 1.00 The Jackals, The Bells of San Angelo, Kansas Pacific - 1.00 Made for Each Other, Suddenly, My Man Godfrey - 1.00 Other movies that I did not buy, but are still fresh in my mind: Mothman Prophecies Lonestar State of Mind |
Picked up Memento 2 disc tonight for $3....when I saw this I was like WTF? I couldn't believe it. Anyway, Big Lots Rules BROTHER!
|
Finally found Memento 2 disc. Haven't seen Batman 1943 serial
