I got Spider and What to do in case of fire
I remember some things like Sideways, Fever Pitch, Manchurian Candidate (new), Saw 2, The Grudge, The Forgotten, Red Eye, among others. Nothing I was too intrigued by. I was hoping to see The Iron Giant there. |
I am still looking for a copy of Spider if someone can pick one up for me. I have a thread in the exchange forum too.
My local stores seem to have a decent amount of stuff, I could probably pick something up for anyone that wants to do a trade. I will probably swing by again this week and check it out again... |
basaro, I saw Spider not long ago. I may be going by that same store tonight, and I'll snag it if I see it.
|
I saw Spider for $3 at a Dollar General just earlier today.

I will be swinging by the crappy Big Lots tomorrow to check it out.
Then on Thursday, I will be going to the good Big Lots, so yeah if anyone is looking for something to trade for Spider or Baaaaadass, let me know what yer looking for! I'll see what I can find. And of course if someone is hard up for something like I am for Spider, let me know and maybe I can help out. Cheers  |
Went to mine last night, it did not look like they had anything new, but it seems like it usually takes a week or so after I read something here before it shows up there.
They did have a lot of crappy Six Flags Souvenirs including at least 3 different statuettes of that creepy old dancing guy they used to have in their ads a few years back. I guess they bought all the surplus from their gift shop. Now I'm sure you will all have that stupid song stuck in your head all day like I do - sorry. |
Went by a Big Lots I seldom go to (because they actually open all their DVD cases and hold the disks at the counter). Just a few 2.00 Sonys, nothing of note. Might try another a little out of my way after work tonight.

They opened mine at the register to check if the disk was there.

There wasn't a whole lot else new I noticed, but they had another copy of Zhou Yu's Train. So, now I'm still looking for Baaaaadass and also now Le Dernier Combat for someone else and myself. There wasn't much new for new movies, but they have now started stocking Pre-Viewed dvds, which are selling for $5. They all were in excellent shape, shrinkwrapped back up and looked like they were never even used. But they had no security stickers, so they must've been used. Perhaps a case of stock that was only opened and never used? Not sure, I don't buy used anymore. But among the used dvds were: Fever Pitch The Grudge Red Eye Exorcism Of Emily Rose Fahrenheit 9/11 Sideways Xmas with the Cranks Saw 2 Fun w/ Dick and Jane I've seen some of these listed in other posts before too, so not sure if they are all used or some are also showing up new too. Enjoy the hunt! |

I spotted a few new titles today, including SCTV: Disc 1 (which only contains the first two episodes of the Volume 1 box set) for $2.00 and Falling Down for $4.00. I picked up the 2-disc Step Into Liquid for $2.00, which I had never seen in stores before. |
Stopped at the same store where I scored nine 2.00 Sony/Columbia/Tri-Stars two weeks ago and they are restocked again. Picked up:
Good Bye Lenin! Home Room The Debut 3-Way Crush Tip Toes There were a bunch more I already have. Guy at the counter said I came at a good time, they had just restocked yesterday (think he recognized me from last time). Anyway, they're still out there some places. |
picked up "the mayor of sunset strip" for $2. It is a documentary about the famous los angeles rock dj Rodney Bingenheimer and a great film.
|
My local Big Lots had the following previously viewed movies at $5.00 each:
The Grudge Saw II The Ring Two The Manchurian Candidate and. . . That plane movie with Cilian Murphy (Red Eye?) |
Stopped by the Coon Rapids store to check on Columbia/Tri-Star titles. Nothing I haven't already got, but I found a copy of the Warner two-disc SE of "Dog Day Afternoon" for $4.00.

Figures
I found about 8 copies of Baadasssss!(now that I have it I can spell it correctly) today at BL after someone else has just picked one up for me. I got a copy anyway just in case, and I'll probably be able to help someone out if needed. Restock included those and 4 or 5 copies of Goodbye Lenin, 2 or 3 Backlot Murders, The Debut, 3-Way, and some other stuff I can't remember. Still didn't find any copies of Le Dernier Combat or anything else I was hoping to pick up for others here, so I will mail you guys separately in a little while. While I was there though, I picked up Prince Of Persia: The Two Thrones for the PC for $6 and also Rogue Trooper for $6. Got RT because of nostalgic reasons, as I have all the comic books, but the game probably sux though  , I'm not sure. |
I've been looking for Dog Day Afternoon. Today I found Baadasssss (which i'm going to trade in at DVDPlanet), The Debut (looked interesting), and Returner for $2 each.
|
Picked up "How To Make a Monster: Creature Features". I did see one copy of "Baaaaadass", but it was loose. I hate that.
|
Finally got a chance to go by there today and they had restocked in a big way - more DVDs than I have ever seen at this BigLots. No Dog Day Afternoon, but I picked up a few of the previously mentioned $2 titles. They also had a lot of the Previously Viewed ones, which were overpriced at $5. You might want to check your local BL.
|
I saw some two disc sets today packaged side-by-side for $4.00. I didn't know any of the title however, except for a Tori Spelling cheerleader movie that I think was made for the Lifetime channel.
|
Nothing new at my local BL except for the appearance of those "pre-watched" titles. Can't believe they expect to get five bucks for them.

http://www.amazon.com/Ants-Tarantula...388711&sr=1-26 I had to replace the store that's closing with a new one, so I stopped in Derry, and they had a pretty good selection, but nothing new I was looking for. I almost picked up a copy of John Lennon Imagine for $4, but the UPC was scratched through, can't stand that. In Amherst I saw a copy of Secret Ballot(this was there last week but I forgot about it), and only one of the other Baadasssss! copies were sold since last week, they still have 6 left. |
Found The Loves Of Carmen yesterday for $3.
Ken Cline, you still around? Not sure if you can or if there's anything new to add to your list. I'm linking to it here, because it's hard to find: Thanks! http://forum.dvdtalk.com/showpost.ph...&postcount=135 |

Saw Alexander 2 disc version for $4 at my local Big Lots today. I was there looking for games and actually passed on this as I didn't think it would be any better than the one disc version.
|
Not exactly DVD deal, but I just picked up a TV stand at Big Lots for $130 which is very similar to the Z-line stands at Circuit City for $300+.
http://www.biglots.com/Images/Furnit.../610008840.jpg I just put it together, and it is a beautiful piece of furniture, my girlfriend likes it better than the ones at CC. The picture doesn't do it justice. If you need a new TV stand, make sure you check it out. 48” Black TV Stand Our Price: $129.99 FEATURES & BENEFITS • Three black tempered glass shelves with polished edges • Wire management back panel • Square metal tubing with chrome plated accents • Accomodates most televisions; CRT, PLASMA, DLP & LCD not exceeding 240 lbs. SKU# 610008840 Dimensions: 48”W x 22”D x 22.25”H |
Thanks for the heads up on the TV stand. I didn't find the one you show above, but I found a couple others that may work.
Also, found three DVDs for $2 each, probably listed earlier, but here goes: The Iron Giant SE Funland Deadly Run Lots and lots of horror titles that weren't there last month or so, several triple feature titles of classic bela lugosi, christopher lee flicks and the like. |
Iron Giant for $2.00 - I'm sold.

Iron Giant SE was $4 but I got it anyway. Must be a YMMV. |

I also found a copy of the Iron Giant SE, but it was $4 (still a great deal). I already own it, so I got it for my nephew as an extra birthday gift. :)
|
I spotted The Iron Giant: SE for $4 yesterday, too, but had picked it up months ago during one of Kroger's 2/$9.99 sales. They also had the original (fullscreen) Chariots Of Fire and several copies of Sandler's Click at $4.
The anime titles are getting extremely scarce now. :( |
My local Big Lots has a ton of cheap B-grade or rather mostly Z-grade horror titles now. I do believe they have about the entire library of titles put out by The Asylum company all for $4 each, along witht he aforementioned triple features and some boxed set double featurs of things. I saw about 20 different Asylum titles.
I picked up the following: $4 - Lady in the Box $4 - When a Killer Calls $4 - Snakes on a Train $2 - Cut/St. Francisville Experiment double feature |
still haven't found any of these movies at my local big lots. sigh.
i did see "far from heaven" for $4.99 and was tempted to get it but it had a HUGE slash through the UPC code. so i decided to hold off on that. |
Got Iron Giant for $4 today too.
Restock also included a lot of snappers and some other stuff, some of this I've seen before, some of it is new finds: Bullitt The Whole Ten Yards Spies Like Us Singles Arthur Dead Calm Joe Vs. The Volcano Tequila Sunrise Running On Empty The Outsiders Major League 2 Presumed Innocent Innocent Blood Heist The Whole Ten Yards The Big Tease Dead Calm Femme Fatale Cinderella Story The Big Bounce (Fullscreen) |
A lot of Asylum stuff showed up at the location near work today, along with a healthy restock of the old $2 titles. I picked up John Woo's Once A Thief (which I had never seen in stores) and Innocence (which I had seen, but kept passing on). Double Vision is the only one I might go back for; I passed on it for now since I wanted to read some reviews first.
|
Didn't see much yesterday, just a small restock that included some of the same stuff as before:
Secret Ballot Zhou Yu's Train Quitting Far From Heaven |
