Followed closely by the cover of the sequel to Chinatown, The Two Jakes. It's horrid and also a part of this B1G1 sale.

I just received my order from DDD. Too bad they change cover arts on many titles Mine including Day of Heaven, The Two Jakes. I hate missing the original Poster art work of The Two Jakes!!

By the way, I highly recommand The Elephant Man and The Duelists. I was surprised both have very good picture and sound quality, and some really interesting extra. Essential collection for fan of David Lynch and Riddly Scott.

Of course not. I don't agree with all the movies on that list, but I do like quite a few of them. I just use it as a guidance and if a movie ranked high on IMDB I will do some more research into the movie elsewhere before considering buying it or not.

Doh! I had about 30 of the $6 titles in my cart the other day, after going thru the list and cross referencing reviews, etc. I got busy at work and had to sign out, and just logged back in to find my cart empty. Lost all that research.

I could have sworn that since I was logged into DDD it should have stayed in my cart for the next visit.

Darn! I have no desire to do all that research again, even for $3 a pop. Live and learn...

Great job on that list Rjanco1! I wanted to place a big order and get the AMEX 10% off, but I think it was better to just place four smaller orders of similarly priced discs to get the maximum value out of the B1G1F:

FYI: I just got my first order and they are sending the newer Silver Bullet dvd, even though the site shows the pic of the previous release. Not sure if there's a difference but just thought people should know if they are interested.

Can anyone post pics of what some of these new covers look like?

Just sort of curious about them... esp. My Bloody Valentine and Silver Bullet.

I don't think DDD bothers to update the pictures if that's the only difference between editions. They still show the older, OOP packaging for John Wayne films even though Paramount's switched to a uniform cover design.

Ive seen a lot of people bag on open range, i found it to be one of the best westerns out in years. I think some peeps just have a beef with costner. Its a really well made western and the shootout at the end is awesome. Up close, personal, and guys actually miss when the lead starts flying. really well done.

Another thumbs up for west. great flick

If your dad is a chuck heston fan, Will Penny is a nice little flick too.

I havent seen most of the wayne flicks since i was a kid. Ive always like westerns, but i havent reseen his flicks as an adult to comment on them.

2nd Order:

MARATHON MAN
STAYING ALIVE
BANG THE DRUM SLOWLY
ELEPHANT MAN

All are $6.03 each, so total for order is $12.06. This has been a great way to fill in some gaps in the collection.

Incidentally, my first order arrived 7 days after I placed it, with free shipping.

Just a suggestion about losing your shopping cart. If you place the DVDs you are interested in into the wish list first and, when you are ready, move from wish list to shopping cart you won't lose anything.

I've already placed some things into my wish list in anticipation of a November 20% off sale.

Just a heads up in case it helps anyone else. Both Escape from Alcatraz and Twilight are non-anamorphic.
