I just got through, the operator said i should get the mailer with instructions within seven days. So, anybody got the mailer yet or was there another thread keep track of that info?

Bobweiser 12-15-06 09:48 PM

I called on November 29th and still haven't received it yet. I haven't heard anyone else getting the mailer yet, but I'm also starting to wonder if they understood me when I gave them my information. I really wonder if the $10 I saved by buying it right away is worth it when I have to jump through hoops just to get the set that should have been right the first time.

MadonnasManOne 12-16-06 12:06 AM

A member of another forum was told that there was a delay in the shipment of the envelopes to Warner Bros. He was told to expect them to take a week longer to get to us.

He contacted them, after not getting his envelopes when he expected them.

getjazzedman 12-19-06 04:06 PM

Called today and they said 7-10 days for the mailer.

tomwaits 12-19-06 07:34 PM

I got my mailer and instructions today.
Basic instructions to return only the 2 incorrect DVDs and a small cardboard mailing sleeve, pre-addressed and with a stamp on it.

Hopefully the replacement DVDs won't be sent loose in a cheap cardboard sleeve...

My deepest, darkest fear...we should dare not speak it aloud...

It looks like the edition I received from buy.com with google checkout before it was oos from the website was the corrected one with the extras on Superman 3 so no exchange needed here. Sweet!!!

Buy.com cancelled my order with a message that the item was "no longer available" from the distributor. Screw Warner Brothers, they've dropped the ball on what should have been the year's must-have set every step of the damn way. I'll just keep the old set and pick up "Superman Returns" previously viewed in another month.

DJariya 12-28-06 09:25 AM

Don't blame Warner Bros. blame Buy.com. Most likely their whole seller probably just doesn't have the sets anymore. Have you looked at other sites?

I bought the set the week it came out and after I discovered the discs were bad, I called the 800 number, got the envelopes and sent the bad discs back and got the replacements within a week. They handled this whole mishap very well and I'm very satisfied with the set.

They seem to have pulled production while they fix the release...

John*D 12-28-06 02:24 PM

Didn't they also NOT order enough Metal Boxes from China as well? So I heard?

At the very least this should guarantee fixed sets whenever they come back to stores.

I reeeeeeally want one cause mine (christmas) was all dented :(
I have to get a new one for the case AND the discs...

kevin75 12-28-06 11:16 PM

so does anyone think that the sets with the metal tins will really be rare? or is it safe to wait awhile to pick up this set?

Same here... and the only store that currently have these in stock is Suncoast, and they are all BADLY dented... I don't mind mailing away for replacement discs. I already have the mailer. But I won't open my set until I find a good tin...

sotra 12-29-06 12:02 AM

Anyone still waiting for the mailers? I called them about 2 weeks ago, but nothing as of yet. Hopefully it is just due to Xmas and all.

nycdude 12-29-06 04:40 AM

well, I took another look at the case and it is dented. :( I did not notice it, initially, when the cardboard surrounding the package covered it and I opened the package in the dark.

Right disks, dented box. hmmm....return or not return to buy.com

Returning things to buy.com SUCKS! I do not recommend it unless you really really have to... They are worse than Amazon!!!

my local Circuit City has some, but they refuse to take ANY returns without receipts. Which I can understand...but, darnit! It's unopened! I just want another copy of the same thing!

pretty sure the tin isn't a limited thing..at least, I sure hope it isn't...

Lecithin 12-29-06 10:06 AM

I got the mailer about a week ago, but did not get around to putting the discs in and mailing it back until yesterday. I ordered my set from Barnes & Noble and they did a good job of getting it to me dent-free.

az_mom_4 12-29-06 08:33 PM

Hi, I hope I don't sound too stupid by asking this but I wanted to get this for my husband soon, but I know he would want to keep it sealed as this is what he does with all his collectible dvds. I guess that means I wouldn't know if it contains the correct discs or not, so would the best thing to do be wait until the new release in Febuary to make sure these discs are the right ones? Thanks!

DisneyDVDFAN 01-03-07 01:42 PM
