Thanks - anyone found some bargain priced pre-order CDs or DVDs? Last year, I got the Lone Wolf & Cub set cheaper than DDD 20% sale price.

All the November pre-orders I checked seemed the same/a few cents less/a few cents more when comparing to DDD with 20% factored in on the current DDD price.

Seeing that they charge a high shipping rate at Wherehouse, I waited on pre-orders and just picked up a few used pieces.

OK - I ended up getting:

Dust Devil: The Final Cut [Limited Collector's Edition] [DVD/CD] [5 Discs] New DVD 23.96
Sand Pebbles New DVD 11.98
Mike Douglas Show [4 Discs] ~ Various Artists Used DVD 6.99

For me, Dust Devil worked out to $19.19 shipped after taxes (factoring in $1 for shipping since I was getting other stuff). This is currently the lowest price on this title - Subversive has already sold out and DDD no longer has it in stock.

Good price - I always forget about them (they aren't included in dvdpricesearch results). I got the Pinky Violence set from them for a good price as well - my only complaint is that they ship in padded bags instead of boxes.

On topic, wherehouse.com has the Pinky Violence set in stock and it would be $39 shipped for me.

For those of you who are'nt planning on getting the James Bond box sets, you can get individual copies of Dr. No, Goldfinger, The Spy Who Loved Me, Goldeneye & Tomorrow Never Dies for about $10.99 respectively. After coupon, you're looking at about $7.69 a title. Not too shabby.

I can never find much greatness in this sale. Shipping and tax sets everything back unless you buy one thing that's of higher price.

They have the James Bond Ultimate Collection Vols. 3 & 4 (pre-order) for $71.98 each. With 30% off that makes them $50.39 + tax (if any) + shipping. That makes them a little less than the current lowest price which is Amazon. Since vols. 3 & 4 come out after the likely DDD sale, this may be the way to go for some.

Anyone have a link to a list of complete series sets, or other large collections? With the coupon, I'd imagine wherehouse has some solid deals on such things. I am currently looking at the alias and MASH sets (I think I can hold off on Andromeda and the first Controversial classics set until DDD.) first order was still for ~$150, got simpsons season 6, a couple of PSP games, Hitchcock S2. It is a great coupon for preorders, games and stuff DDD doesn't have a great starting price on.

How are the Pinky Violence movies? I saw this at my local Hastings and was thinking about picking it up

Also, Wherehouse/FYE/SaturdayMatinee etc. have a trade in deal right now. You get an extra $5 for every $25 you trade in. They should put your credit on a giftcard that can be used at wherehouse.com and all affiliates.

Does anyone know if you can place more than 1 order using the 30% off coupon code using the same account/email address?

I ordered a few things to use up a gift card. Then it dawned on me that maybe I should return my unopened stuff I got from their recent in-store trade-4 DVDs get 1 DVD free deal and order the same DVDs online. Doing so would save me almost $30 and would be enough to get 2 more DVDs, as long as they are willing to give me another gift card at the store.

Wherehouse has always had Knife in the Water (Criterion) mispriced at $24 new. This discount would make a good price on that title.
