I'll hold out for a better deal. There are enough Overstock horror stories to make me stay away from them. I'm sure there will be a better deal or exclusive goodies somewhere else.
Thanks for the post, though.

After close to 900 DVDs purchased, the only retailer exclusives I've come across for Warner Bros. titles are the Best Buy bonus discs with THE POLAR EXPRESS (which was inexplicably on the single-disc version only, so if WB holds true to form, a bonus disc won't be offered with this 2-disc S.E. anyway) and LOOK, UP IN THE SKY!: THE AMAZING STORY OF SUPERMAN (in which everything on the bonus disc is slated to be on the SUPERMAN RETURNS DVD later this year anyway), so mathematically speaking, the chances of this title having a retailer exclusive are too slight not to jump on the savings (and I, for one, have never had an Overstock problem, and their shipping is damn fast).

Overstock wasn't bad when sending Cannibal Holocaust to me awhile back. I think people only experience trouble because Kingdom of Heaven was in a delicate packaging compared to a case.
I'd still go with Amazon, especially if you have the Prime free trial.

And as far as the Overstock shipping thing goes, lately I've been receiving my stuff super quick. Like in two days. But maybe I'm close to a distribution center or something? Anyway, I enjoy these boards. I've been lurking for awhile but decided to sign up.

From the coupon section here at DVDTalk:
15% off O-Day Sale! Starting this Thursday Save 15% off every order! Valid 12pm MST 6/29/06 to 11:59am MST 6/30/06!
Is it possible to combine the free shipping with those links also? I've tried to do so with the 10% off link, but I can't ever get it to work.

Whoops, when I made my first post I forgot that I bought the Kingdom of Heaven: DC from Overstock. Mine arrived pretty quickly and it wasn't badly damaged. Plus I have $7 or so credit there from that Neon Genesis Evangelion Platinum Collection error a while ago. I'll still wait a little while to see other deals, but I'll most likely order it from Overstock.

Well, allow me to eat a truckload of crow--some lessons are learned the hard way, I guess. As we all know, there were a myriad of retailer exclusives for this title, contrary to my earlier convictions (which was faulty anyway, because I'd forgotten about all the exclusive Warner Bros. lenticular covers of late). So, I tried to cancel my Overstock order, only to get some b.s. e-mail about how they had to check with certain third party vendors and get back with me before they could; every subsequent inquiry I made regarding this and/or threat I made to never purchase from them again if they didn't cancel the order was met with another copy of the same generic, condescendingly corporate email as before. Then, once I realized they were not going to do anything to meet my needs, even at the loss of any and all of my future business, I researched their return policy, which includes no refund for shipping the disc back (which is industry standard, I know) and a $4.95 restocking fee! (which is most certainly NOT industry standard), basically forcing you to keep what you bought unless it was a high-ticket item. So, after years of posting here and seeing evidence of others' intelligence and experience dealing with all things related to DVD collecting, I got cocky at the appeal of saving $5 and ignored everyone's sage advice and got burned for it. As of now, I've purchased the exclusive Target lenticular cover edition for my collection and am currently trying to get a friend at work to buy the Overstock one. If he passes, I'll return it to Wal-Mart (bless them, they take anything) and get store credit for groceries. I just wanted to say thanks for trying to set me straight, guys, and I'm sorry I doubted your wisdom. Lesson learned. What a despicable corporate ethic.

eBay's a pain in the butt; I gotta package it up and get it in the mail to the buyer...bleh...but thanks for the advice. My friend from work has agreed to take it for $18, so the only cost in the end for me was unnecessary frustration and any confidence in the management of Overstock.com.
