Thanks for posting this info Perry.

Now if they'd just re-release Inframan I'd be set.

I thought the same damn thing. I had to google Sokko to see how to spell it, and it said "Flying".
I think it must have been broadcast as "Giant" at some point or something.

Also pre-ordered at Borders, but got this message:

Thank you for your online special order request (or pre-order if the
item has not yet been released). Unfortunately we are unable to place an
order for the item you selected at this time.

There are a variety of reasons why this may be the case, including the
following: the item may be temporarily out of stock, it may be out of
print, we may not have updated contact information for the publisher or
label, or the release date may have been delayed. If the item you
requested was a book, we may be able to obtain a used copy through our Used
or Out-of-Print Book Service. If you are interested in this option,
please contact your local store for assistance at the phone number below.
You can also access store information, such as store hours and
location, on the web at
http://www.bordersstores.com/stores/...p?storeID=0073.

We do apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused.

Weird. Thanks for the note on the Borders price though. I'll have to try again once it is "out".

For anyone who wants to get the set via Best Buy, it's been out early there and is $23.99. The overall quality isn't bad, though the image quality looks like it suffers a bit from too much compression.

Thanks for the heads up on Borders' price! I work there and never even thought to check on this one since our box sets are typically much more expensive than almost anywhere else. I had to order a copy since we weren't set to receive any in the shipment.

This might be a YMMV situation, though, as Borders does state that the prices on special orders are subject to change, and if it comes in from our distributor at a higher price, you'll be charged that amount, not $14.99.

I bought the full sets of Ultraman and Johnny Socko years ago on ebay. Wish I had waited for the real releases, but I probably won't double dip.

Ultraman was my first "favorite" show, and I will always proudly display it on my shelf, but I don't think I'd recommend it as a blind buy.

What section did they put it in? I checked sci-fi, action, TV, anime, childrens, and new releases and didn't see it.

It was in the TV section, under U. The store I was at had at least ten copies out.

I got the set today and watched the first episode. I don't have much desire to watch it in English so I didn't notice any problems with it. After actually seeing the set I have to say that $15 is a steal (though I paid $20).

It sounds like the English language version has some problems, and hopefully they will fix that but I'm not unhappy with the set yet. Hopefully that won't change as I watch more episodes.

F.Y.E. has it on their web site for $12.99...

http://shop.fye.com/product.aspx?sku=202602099

I stopped by the FYE at the mall to see if they had them in store and they didn't. Luckily I printed out the fye.com page. I then stopped by Circuit City down the hall (they had it "on sale" for $24.99) they price matched the fye.com price so I got it for $11.79!

The copy I ordered via Borders came in today and was, as I expected, priced at $30 and not the $14.99 it was (incorrectly) listed as in the system. Needless to say I didn't bother picking it up.

ZoneFighter: Does FYE typically price match their website? I've got a really good relationship with some people that work there, so maybe my chances would be increased...

I have no idea, I had never even bothered to go inside FYE before (I have always despised mall "Record Stores.") The prospect of cheap Ultraman DVDs got me in the door though. Since they didn't have it in stock I didn't bother asking if the price was correct...

Same here. $11.79 + Tax out the door at Circuit City with a Price Match. I'll cancel my Borders Pre-Order when it comes in.
