New Wal-Mart 3.88 (Yes! THREE!) display...

Went in at midnight tonight (monday/tuesday crossover to be clear) and as usual the new release displays and 'deal o' the week' displays were going out.

the people who do this are former coworkers of mine and lazy as sin, but they eventually got them uncovered and I wrote down the entire list after price checking one title (I bought 3, all rang up at 3.88 so it seems definitive).

Here's the list (with a few notes to jog memories as to why the titles I'm familiar with may be of consequence to you if you can't quite place them):

Barton Fink
(Coen Brothers!)
The Best Laid Plans
The Big Trail (EARLY John Wayne--1930)
Brigham Young
Brubaker (Robert Redford)
Digimon: the Movie (I didn't look closely, it could have been episodes or something..)
For the Boys
The Great White Hype
The King of Comedy (yes! A Scorsese/De Niro film!)
Let's Make Love
A Life Less Ordinary
Mother, Jugs & Speed
The Newton Boys
Norma Rae
The Object of My Affection
The Pick-Up Artist
Q&A
The Scout
Simply Irresistible
Strange Days
The Terrorists
To the Shores of Tripoli

That should be *ALL* of them, as there was a packing list hanging out of the display that I double checked with. It also listed quantity, and a few were in shorter supply than others (1 or 2 titles only listed 3-4 copies) but most were 8-10 copies.

Barton Fink and The King of Comedy are an absolute steal at that price.

Sheesh! It's getting to the point where you can purchase a DVD for close to the same cost as a gallon of gas!! That's a little scary when you think about it!

(Not complaining, though!)

Didn't see it this morning. Was thinking of checking out A Life Less ordinary. Hard not to at that price.

I've held off on THE BIG TRAIL because it's not widescreen or anamorphic, but at that price, I may have to bite (at least until Fox decides to release the widescreen version shown on AMC back in the day).

It was *just* rolled out last night. A big Fox display (half-pallet) with Fox logo side-panels...as usual with these, I'd keep an eye out for up to a week as sometimes they feel there's not enough room for both new releases *and* specials like this, so they hold off until a new release half pallet empties, or until the next week if there are fewer of them to begin with.

Man that'd be strange if for once my store was AHEAD of everyone...

Mother, Jugs, & Speed is pure '70s movie bliss.

I was happy to have it at 3 times that price.

I'll have to look it over but nothing here seems very appealing to me. I'll be in there today though so I'll check it out.
