According to DVD Price Search, it is the best current deal. However, I've seen it for as little as $30 at Costco during one of their instant rebate sales.

It used to be cheap used at Wherehouse.com, but now it's $38 used. This would probably be the best price.

Considering DDD just raised their price on the set from $47.87 to $55.85, even if the you-know-what happens you-know-when, the new amazon price will still be the way to go.

I had the set, and this is a great price, but I ended up selling it because I HATED the packaging...... When the whole set is unfolded it's like over 6 feet long! Very unweildy and breakable. I sold it, paid a bit more at a certain 20% off sale and got the individual dual disc releases. Just my .02

It does indeed. A bonus 9th disc.

The box does have an extra disc that the individual releases do not include, but I agree that the packaging is a pain. Also, given the chances of finding a used copy at Wherehouse, etc. that has all of the discs in good shape, includes the booklet, doesn't have any broken hubs or tears, etc., I would rather throw out an extra $8 and get a sealed copy.

Btw. I have the R2 Alien Anthology set with the 5th bonus disc. I''m seriously considering this though. Worth getting even if I have the old release? If so, worth keeping the old release? The 2 releases seems to have separate special features.
