It was a minor headache getting the Dawn of the Dead set.

It rang up at 34.99 and then I heard the whole "hrm, 3 disc set not 4 disc" thing. After about 15 minutes of waiting and confirming they gave in and gave it to me for the 17.99.

Of course my copy is a little beat-up (they all were for some reason) so I'll exchange for a fresher copy sometime in the month.

At my Circuit City Dawn of the Dead Ultime rang up at $17.99, and it is indeed the 4 disc. Not bad at all. I'm glad I waited on it.

Yup, no problem at my CC... PM'ing Rush Hour for an extra 50 cents was another matter.

I forgot to bring my BB ad so the gal called 'em, which was fine as I had stopped there before to see if they had the DOTD DVD (which they didn't) and I saw they had Rush Hour for $4.99. Anyways, she called and the guy told her that it was $9.99 starting today! So, out of spite I went over to BB (it's only a couple minutes away) got the ad and took it back to CC. The girl was confused as to why he had told her that it wasn't $4.99...

I realize it was only 50 cents but it's the principle of the matter

Went to Circuit City on my lunch break right as CC's doors opened this morning, they didn't have one single DOTD in stock.. How awesomely irritating.

Orange, CT. showed 1 copy in store but the employee who worked there could not find it. He directed me to Customer Service to ask for a raincheck where I was told that they do not do rainchecks.

I replied that I have gotten from that location before and she had a puzzled look on her face. She asked the on duty manager who offered to take my name and hold one if one came in.

Then she went to look for the 1 copy which she found.

Thank God!

I picked up Dawn: Ulimate dvd today and had the same problem. It rang up at $34.99($36 with tax) and I told the clerk it was $17.99 in the ad. He was confused and looked at his incomplete ad(missing the main cover flap, which had the ad on the inside first page!). So he ran to the door of the store and grabbed the ad and dared to say "I don't see it listed" and I pointed at the ad "Right there, see?". He looked at the ad,then the dvd and back and forth for a moment confused.

Then he took me to customer service and said they would help me out. And again the lady at C.S. studied the ad and package price listings and was confused..but gave it to me for the ad price.

I am glad I waited on the set and never thought I would see it cheaper than deepdiscountdvds.com $29.99 price. Sometimes it pays to be both broke and patient because of that

Glad you got it JW!

I really don't why this is SO confusing to the folks at Circuit City.

Yeah, some sets like the Mel Brooks collection are the same price online as what is advertised in store, but that Dawn of the Dead collection is $40 on circuitcity.com - they must have messed something up there.

I went to CC today to pick up some DVD's and as i was checking out i spotted a bunch of copies of GTA:LCS stacked up on a vacant register so i grabbed one and told the cashier to add this to my stuff. She said "we aren't supposed to start selling those until 5 o'clock"....
I was just like oooookay, that doesn't make any sense but whatever and left.

Anyone got any reasonably sane idea of what the purpose is of waiting until 5 to sell it? (They had a TON of copies btw)

They've been advertising in their ads on certain new games that they will be available on a certain date at a certain time.

The street date i can understand, it's the time thing i don't get. Are we getting to a point where we have street times now?

This sucks, I tried to grab the Mel Brooks set on lunch and couldn't find it. The employees thought I was lying that it existed until I grabbed a circular and showed them. I suppose it's off to Walmart to pricematch after work, one hell of a wasted trip.

I believe that 5 PM sell time allows the most amount of in-demand games to be available for those who wish to buy them.

After all, school's out and most people are home from work at 5 PM.

In my own case, I could easily make the time to get a game that goes on sale at 5 PM as opposed to one that goes on sale at 10 PM.

I'm not defending the practice; I just believe that's what Circuit City (and I think Target has done this to a small extent) is trying to achieve.

Me.... I would just live with the current status quo or modus operandi that's been in place for years.

Underworld & Firewall $12.99 each

Just got back from my local Circuit City (Coral Springs, FL) and they had Underworld & Firewall for $12.99 each. Just an FYI...

I rarely go to CC, but since my BBY didn't carry DOTD UE I went to CC. I actually tried calling CC a couple times before going, but as usual nobody answered. When I got to CC, as I expected, they didn't have any DOTD UEs.

Also, Firewall and Underworld Evolution were $13.99 at my CC rather than $12.99. Actually Suncoast has a $7 rebate on Underworld Evolution ($19.99) making it $12.99, but you have to cut out the UPC and can a TWEC rebate be trusted?

Somehow I have this feeling that Underworld Evolution will get a double dip by the end of the year, so even $12.99 doesn't seem that great.
