The "Narrow These Results By" option does not show all of the the used Criterions available. You'll have to browse the entire list of used DVDs to find them all.

And what kind of conditon does Tower re-sell used items in? I've had varied results from different used sellers (Gamestop, tradeup, spun).

I had put M, Rashomon, Throne of Blood and 8 1/2 in my cart and by the time I double checked this thread to see if I wanted anything else, all but 8 1/2 were out of stock!

Anyone know how they handle out of stock items?
I just placed an order and on my Order Status, 4 items are listed as Not Available. Do they only ship the in stock items and cancel the out of stock items? Do they charge for the entire order or only for the shipped items? |

I tried this when they did the same several months ago, and all the Criterions were OOS by the time my order went through. I had chosen 2nd day shipping hoping that things would go through quicker, and then all the Criterions were OOS and I ended up paying for 2 day shipping on those (since they shipped before I could change it), and getting the others cancelled.
It's really not worth the hassle of having this big heart attack on the cheap prices and then frantically trying to get an order in. They probably only have one, maybe two, of these titles, and the person that posted, or someone on FW probably already got them all. |
I dislike that on the search page it says "In Stock" or "Low Stock" for many items, but when you click through to the item description, it says out of stock. Not cool...

I placed an order for 13 Criterions, we'll see how many actually go through. I remember last time they had this sale about half of the items that were in stock when I placed the order ended up being unavailable.

Are there any free shipping codes out there? There are a few kids cheap kids movies I wouldn't mind picking up.

They're giving free shipping on all orders over $20. I don't think these used titles qualify though.

I ordered a group of used titles before in their last sale -- I'd recommend three things:
1. Use a credit card instead of paypal, should they not be in-stock (despite what the website might claim), since it was a hassle to get my money refunded...took a couple of emails to do so. 2. There's no way to get free shipping on these discs. If you have a Tower $5 off $30 coupon, I think you can apply it, but there's definitely no way to get free shipping, so I wouldn't spend too much time on that. 3. Prepare to be disappointed. It also seems they literally only have 1 copy of every title, or thereabouts, so once someone goes through that list you'll be out of luck. If you jumped in early, good work, because the few titles I did receive last time were excellent bargains and in terrific condition, too. |

I'd be cautious. I've had lots of good results with used Tower items, but the only double-disc criterion I ordered from them (Children of Paradise) came with the artwork cut down to fit in a single-width case.

Alot is cleaned out I think. When I was at school around 9:00 they still had 8 1/2, I get home at 9:40, and it's gone.
