Hollywood Video: New batch of movies available at 3/$25

FWIW: My local Hollywood Video added some new titles to the used movies for sale bins, and they were coincidentally running their 3/$25 promotion again. I saw the following:

Enron: The Smartest Guys in the Room
History of Violence
Jarhead
Walk the Line
Good Night, and Good Luck
Junebug
Aristocrats
Yours, Mine and Ours

Good hunting!

Hmm, already own three of those (Jarhead, History of Violence and Walk the Line) but I might pick up Good Night, and Good Luck and see if there are two others that I want.

Anyone know when the 3 for $25 deal ends? There are a couple of DVDs that are coming out soon, that I'm waiting for.

I saw some of those at MovieGallery's eternal B2G2F sale over a month ago:

Enron - $12.99
Junebug - $12.99
Aristocrats - $9.99

Those were the sticker prices, so divide by 2 to get the price via B2G2F. I bet many of the others on the OP's list are at MG now too, I just haven't been back for a month or so.

Here are some other new(ish) titles that I saw:

The Constant Gardener
Domino
Elizabethtown
In Her Shoes
Tim Burton's Corpse Bride

And I did ask how long the 3/$25 promotion was going to run, but the sales clerk could only guess "a couple of weeks, probably."

I work for hollywood video. The deal can last one week or a few weeks, it really depends on how people in Oregon which is where the HQ is thinks. If they want to change it they can at any point.

Previous deals: 3 for $30, 4 for $20, 3 for $25, 2 for $10 and so forth.

Just visit any hollywood video each week for exciting deal.

As do I, and the 3/$25 sale is usually a month long event. As of right now, most districts, atleast in the Northwest region are in a PV contest.

Alls I know is that we've had 2 $3,000 nights in a row, with 20% of our revenue coming from PV sales.

Other than the occasional rogue store, the current PVD promotion at HV is always listed at:

http://www.hollywoodvideo.com/specia...spotlight.aspx

When they change, they usually change on Tuesdays.

As of tonight, yes. "Fun With Dick & Jane" was added at my store this afternoon, as well as a price drop on select titles.

i.e.

"Fever Pitch"
"Final Cut"
"Boogeyman"
"Spanglish"
"Ocean's Twelve"
"Hide and Seek"
"After the Sunset"
"Hitch"
"Aviator"

..and others were dropped to $7.99, making them eligible for the 4/$20 sale.

The Hollywood Video in Anderson, SC have the 5 for $15 also. However, they are selling them for $3 each, you don't even need to buy five of them to get the deal. I guess it's just that store though, since they had the 5 for $15 sign up, and then next to it they had on another handmade sign saying that they're just $3 each no matter what. I picked up:

-Ringers: Lord of the Fans
-Rock School

They have a bunch of pretty good titles in the section also, a lot of indie type flicks and foreign films, but I already had just about all of the ones that I'd want. I'd say that there were at least ten or so DVDs that I would have picked up had I not already owned them. I was just in there a few days ago and they wouldn't let you have them at just $3 each, so it is a very recent change for that store. If any of you are somewhat near Anderson, I'd say check it out, but don't kill me if you don't find something you want.

Off of the top of my head, here are a few that I remember seeing there for $3:

A Very Long Engagement
The Chumscrubber
Enron: The Smartest Guys in the Room
Junebug
Murderball
Nine Lives
Saraband
The Sea Inside
Thumbsucker

This deal is happening in tri state area for months now. In some stores, they also have 5 for $20 deal for other PVDs that they cann't sell for years.

Almost positive it's the 1-disc.

FWIW, there seems to be a lot of Asian films included in this sale. In addition to Nobody Knows and 3-Iron, I also saw the US releases of Infernal Affairs and some other Tony Leung film.
