In any event, these sets are a great value, and I can't figure out why they're being unloaded so cheaply.

I know it's off-topic but... Elvis 2-disc SEs? I know some of his TV stuff was released as SEs but I've heard nothing about the movies. Do you have any more info on these?

Thanks guys. Picked up North by Northwest and Dial M for Murder as blind buys since it was highly recommended.

I think this sale may be on its way out. Both Walmarts in my town removed the displays.

My friends won't take me to Wal-Mart...

FangsFirst 04-16-06 08:42 AM

Blast.
I told my father and he got excited enough about the Marx set to go to multiple wal-marts and we never found the damn things :\

Oddly, they placed this display in the back by the layaway counter in my local mart. Just happened upon it yesterday, but it didnt have the 2 fer I wanted, Gettysburg/Gods & Generals. It was coupled with a $5.88 CD display. The other mart only had three trays and it appeared to be mostly comedies.

The Marxes were at the larger display and were shrinkwrapped back to back instead of on the side like the others. I think the Hitchcocks were this way too.

At one of my local Wal-Marts (Maysville Rd), they had these two packs in a box near the back of the electonics department. It seems as though they've ditched the box now and just have them shelved along with the regular DVDs now, which makes it a bit harder to search for titles since there's no aparent order.

strangely, I went to the local wally (I was out of town checking previously) that I used to work at and found only 2 copies of the Marx Bros set...so now my father and I shall each have one. As well as Cabaret and Victor Victoria.

I did a see a Mystic River/Blood Work set today with a widescreen Blood Work - so it MIGHT be possible to find a widescreen copy with a Heartbreak Ridge...

Even though the back cover and DVD Compare claim it to be, Cabaret is not anamorphic correct?

alfonsosoriano 05-07-06 09:10 PM

Good deal on the shipping now at Walmart.

Manzana 05-08-06 11:05 AM

I wonder if I should try to return the order I paid the higher shipping price at my local store and re-order? I wonder if they'd adjust the price. Knowing Walmart the answer is a big no.

abintra 05-08-06 04:29 PM

Walmart charges tax on the shipping charges? Do any other retailers do that (probably do and I never noticed before)?
