Just came back from from my local wally world and they had the dosplay. All but one rang up $4.88. They were right in the middle of the electronics dept. Here's my list

Some of the I saw in the rack were on sale at Best Buy for $5.99 and $4.99-->none that i mention here though. Good luck to all

I saw the display at my Walmart on Tuesday, it wasn't there Monday. I went back today(Thursday) to get a couple titles and the display was gone, replaced by a palate of DVD/VCR combos. I asked where they went and was told it was taken down today. It literally lasted two days. When I saw it Tuesday it didn't even look like anything had been bought from it, the display was full.

                        I don't understand Walmart.

After working there over a year and a half, I urge you not to try.
                        It will only hurt.

I'll never forget the first time I came across a $4.88 bin. I had to talk myself out of some movies and still ended up leaving with both Rush Hours, Demolition Man, Little Nicky and Frequency.

Lately I'm lucky if there's one title I want.

There are 3 levels of films:
                        1) Some movies are released in theaters
                        2) Some movies are released straight to DVD
                        3) Van Damme movies are released straight to the WM 5.50 bin...

As scarredgod already pointed out, same person.

He was born Joaquin but since his siblings had nature names (River, Summer, Rain), he changed his to Leaf. He appeared as Leaf Phoenix in (Spacecamp, Russkies, Parenthood, etc)

When he "returned" to acting after River died, he changed his name back to Joaquin.

The WM near me had this display. There were a lot of movies of only marginal interest. But none of them indicated that they were anamorphic. If I don't know, I now operate on the assumption that if the back doesn't say "anamorphic" or "enhanced for 16x9 TVs", it isn't anamorphic. None of this bunch seemed to be.

btw, if Killers Klowns from Outer Space is available, I would highly recommend it.. A hoot. cult classic. by Chiodo brothers (featured in the 1933 Mighty Joe Young supplement). It's fully loaded - commentary, deleted scenes, making of, etc. If this were put out by Criterion it would easily be a $40 item. So i think $4 for this puppy is a no brainer.

Unless of course you have no interest in murderous extraterrestrial circus freaks

Picked up Oliver Stone's Salvador SE for $3.88 at the Wal-Mart on Enterprise in Huntsville, AL. Documentary, Audio Commentary, Deleted Scenes, and James Woods made this easy. Haven't sen it mentioned above.

Okay - Just got in from Wal-Mart Burke, VA...
First thing - These Wal-Mart sales is perhaps one of the only reasons i monitor this board. I'm a sucker for the $19.98 TV box set deals and the $3.88 / $4.88 bargains.
To the guy who isn't into these sales - ef you buddy!
Second thing - Oliver Stone's 'Salvador' for $3.88 is an AMAZING buy for an AMAZING film.
                        Finally - My shopping list:
Eye of the Needle (w/ Donald Sutherland)
Losin' It (w/ Tom Cruise, Shelly Long)
                        Valley Girl (w/ Nicolas Cage)
                        Ned Kelly (w/ Mick Jagger)
Wild Bill (w/ Jeff Bridges, Christina Applegate - Who looks HOT!!)
Invasion of the Body Snatchers (w/ Leonard Nimoy, Jeff Goldblum)
Phantom of the Opera (w/ Robert Englund)
Flawless (w/ Robert DeNiro, Philip Seymour Hoffman)
                        Dillinger (w/ Warren Oates)
All of Nothing (dir., Mike Leigh)
                        Total - $48!!

Wow, I now have a new respect for Joaquin Phoenix.

My local had these DVDs jammed into a little cardboard side display for something else. Only saw some of the titles listed. Some titles had a dozen or so copies, while others only had 1 or 2.

                        A few not yet mentioned:

Bound For Glory (Woody Guthrie bio - not anamorphic)
                        Shalako (Connery & Bardot)
                        The Last Valley

I picked up All or Nothing, The Brood, & Blow Out blind because I like all of the directors.

FairLakes, VA had these mixed in the $5.50 bin. I passed on most of the titles as they were non-anamorphic.

Okay - So I started watching some of the titles from this sale...
'Eve of the Needle' - Uhhh... SO BORING!
'Invasion of the Body Snatchers'... also dull.
I couldn't even finish them. BUT for $4.88 it was still worth it. Don't mind taking a chance. Not sure what's up next. I'm thinking I'll check out 'Dillinger'

Just goes to show people have different tastes. I like both of those, and don't find them boring at all.

This display must be well hidden at my Walmart because I was there on Tuesday and did my usual quick walkaround at the front and in the electronics section and I didn't see any MGM bins or displays. Even if I had seen it, the only one I probably would've bought is Love at First Bite.

Were Catch-22, North Dallas Forty, Semi-Tough, and Virtuosity $4.88 or $3.88? AFAIK, those are Paramount titles that were $4.88 before, so I'd like to know if they have dropped to $3.88.
