I don't get the point to ordering via price match. Unless they BEAT the price, (and assuming the service is the same) what's the difference? price matching at circuit city or best buy at least gets you an extra 10% back.

DDD gave it to me for $19.86. The price-matching e-mail said they would be the cost (including shipping) by ten cents. The CSR asked for the e-mail # but then also asked me how much the item was, and gave it to me for $19.86 without the cost of Wal-Mart's shipping. I'm guessing she didn't even look at what the e-mail said, so why'd she ask for the #?

I ordered this at the end of Jan for 34.99 at Amazon (stupid, eh? ...
) and they just refunded me the $15 difference because I asked. Woohoo ... I still love Amazon.

My Walmart.com order arrived in perfect shape! But they did use a padded envelope.
Thanks again Geminix for posting this deal!
(It's currently in stock again at Walmart.com for $19.75.)

I just watched Serenity and thought it was decent enough that I might try to watch the Firefly episodes, but since Amazon chose to raise the price from $19.86 to $24.96 right before I could order, I guess I'll pass. Too bad DDD only offers it for under $20 via begging and luck in email instead of their normal price, and buying at Walmart.com would cost more than $20 with shipping. I have a rule about not paying more than $20 for any season of a TV show, and the only time I've ever violated that on The Simpsons.

You might want to reconsider a price match with Deep Discount DVD. My one experience doing that with the Star Wars trilogy set was pretty painless. I sent them an email asking if they could match another online seller and I included a link to the item. They emailed me back an approval pretty quickly. My only caution with DDD is that they sometimes ship in form-fitting cardboard boxes without any padding. I have received a couple of floating DVDs in my DDD orders.
Another option might be to check out your local public library. That's what I did inititally.

I hate having to watch for an item to be in stock before sending an email, so I probably won't bother. I'll check this thread occasionally, but otherwise Firefly will remain on my list to get when I see it for $20 + tax or less. I've seen too many TV series sell for under $20 + tax to budge very much on my rule. Firefly is something I can be patient on. I still have plenty of Seinfeld and Everybody Loves Raymond seasons to watch (all bought for $10-$18 + tax per season).
