(DEAD) The Shield seasons 1 & 2, $19.86/each before S&H

Ran a search and didn't see this posted. Walmart.com has both the first and second season for $19.86 each. I'm not sure how much their shipping adds on, but the total price still has to come in pretty far below DDD or Amazon, who respectively have them listed around $37 and $44.

That's a great price, I tried forever to find those cheap before I finally bit the bullet for around $40 a season. One of the best shows I have ever seen, highly recommended for anybody looking for some truly addictive television.

They have a few others as well.

Already posted here

Here's the link to Wal-Mart Page of TV Sets on sale for $19.86.

BTW, shipping for me (to Michigan) was just under $5 for one set (Dark Angel S2).

If you like the Shield, you will love The Wire.

Any comparison to The Shield and I'm sold. But I've been looking around and the cheapest I can find any where is Walmart.com at $70 bucks!?! That's crazy, and probably the same reason I haven't picked up Deadwood, Carnivale, or The Sopranos. Anybody have any recommendations for where to pick these up cheap or used?

The Wire is outstanding and highly recommended!! I'd say it's grittier and more hardcore because it's an HBO show. I'm a HUGE Shield fan as well and can't wait for tomorrow.....

Anyway, The Wire sets are indeed pricey, though I was able to get them used for $30 bucks apiece at Gamestop (mint condition I might add). If you can get them during their B1G1 free sale, the average cost per set is even less (that's what I did).

My local Gamestops always seem to have tons of Soprano sets for $40 bucks. As I've said, the ideal way to grab those is during their B1G1 free sale. You can end up getting three season's worth for $80 bucks -- or about $26 bucks apiece. Not bad at all.....

I've seen Deadwood at my Gamestops for $30 or 40 bucks...

Other than both being cop show, The Wire and The Shield don't really have much in common. That being said, The Wire is great. It does require a lot to enjoy though. You have to pay attention due to the number of characters and storylines, and you have to give it time to develop. With so much going on, it takes a while to get into the bulk of the story. It definitely isn't for everyone. To me, it is the best show on television right now.

You've nailed it exactly!!! It's very deliberately paced and, as mentioned, requires attention and commitment. But, wow, does it ever pay off!

I saw a few copies of the Shield 2 at the local Walmart had it scanned and it rang up $19.86. They were with a few other tv shows and were marked PR on the Walmart label. YMMV of course. I just picked up season one for under $20 and have yet to watch one episode but I figure it would be worth a blind buy based on the reviews I read here.
