A classic, agreed, but framed incorrectly on the 2nd Image release, which is what Wal-Mart has. The one you want is the first. Short Circuit SE (OOP) Luckily, I got mine cheap. It seems as if fans of the movie hardly even know this release exists.

Nabbed the singular "Key Largo" as well. $5.50 is chump change, even if they revisit it later in '06.

Anybody have a complete list of the SNL Best of DVDs available in the WM DB?
I got the following: Adam Sandler, Molly Shannon, Mike Myers, Tracy Morgan, Eddie Murphy, Chris Kattan and Jimmy Fallon ($7.50 last week at Target).
Ialso already got the Will Ferrel boxset from CH and the 25 years of music boxset from Best Buy.

Didnt that go OOP a long time ago? I was lucky to get one by accident at a local used shop but never seen it at WM or any other B&M stores.

Um, I didn't! Thanks for enlightening me. I passed on the walmart one cuz I heard about the misframing. Now I'll have to start my quest for the SE...

I'll have to go and see if my store has A Few Good Men. Would be a nice pick up. I think we need a new thread like this one as it seems a bit dated.

I saw a few $5.50 titles at Wal-Mart that I hadn't seen before. I don't remember them all, but here are a few. (Apologies if these have been mentioned before):

Nashville
Lil Abner
City Slickers II
Backdraft

The first three are anamorphic. Backdraft was widescreen but didn't say anything about being anamorphic, so I didn't get it. Does anyone know if it is indeed anamorphic?

I know the first widescreen release of Backdraft was NOT anamorphic. I don't think there were any other releases. On 9/12 a new anamorphic edition is supposed to come out. I used to buy non-anamorphic until I got a 16x9 TV then after comparing various DVDs I said NEVER AGAIN.

Here's my 2 cents on the $5.50 dump bin:
- Lately I've found so little I want in it that I rarely waste time digging any more. I just "eyeball" what's sitting on the top and unless I spot several new titles not previously in the dump bin, I don't bother to dig.
- With frequent $4.88 display sales, the $5.50 bin feels a bit overpriced, especially since most of what ends up in the dump bin are old releases (non-anamorphic, pan & scan only, or single layer stuff).
- When DDD has their 20% off sales, most of the $5.50 dump bin stuff can be found for under $5 at DDD and there's no digging required (but you have to know what to look for at DDD).

So I find myself less inclined to look through the dump bin and that way I don't need to compete against other people knocking their DVDs into the hole I was trying to dig. To do it right you need a shopping cart, but it's not worth the effort for the types of titles I've seen in there lately.

Saw a new 4.88 display with many Elvis, Clint Eastwood, and John Wayne films. Didn't pay much attention to the Elvis and John Wayne films but the Eastwood films were Enforcer, Any Which Way You Can, City Heat, Honkytonk Man, Pink Cadillac, Perfect World, True Crime, Kelly's Heroes, Tightrope, Bronco Billy, Where Eagles Dare. Think that's all. Maybe that crappy Bloodwork was there or I saw it in the 5.50 bin.

Beguiled is through Universal. All of these were Warner titles. Snappers too. As far as Elvis and John Wayne go, I know there was Jailhouse Rock and Cahill. None of the newly released John Ford/ John Wayne titles were there.

Are very many of you finding the original Dirty Harry in the $4.88 bin.

I got the last 3 sequels, but haven't seen the original at any Wal Mart I have been to.

I didn't see Dirty Harry or Magnum Force in the 4.88 bin only the movies that came after. I only picked up Kelly's Hero's myself. I am thinking about the later John Wayne movies, Cahill etc...
