You guys are making me think I should go back for more. I don't own any of the movies on this list (except for Caddyshack now and T3).

Oh damn, I've gotta get to Wal-Mart. I've been noticing the price drops of The Shining and North by Northwest on sites like DVDPacific and Amazon.

Yeah, I will definately be feeding the Wal-Mart machine for alot of those DVD's at those prices. Best in Show, A Mighty Wind, Eyes Wide Shut, Maltese Falcon, North by Northwest, Bullitt (yes I know theres a 2 disc but I don't love the movie) atleast I will be all over. Thanks for the news.

Eyes Wide Shut is a very interesting flick. I'm tempted to grab a hold of that one, too.

Wish a Clockwork Orange was in this crowd.

I may pick up North by Northwest. Is there only one version of it released so far?

These are good sites to use, to find out for yourself if a film has received multiple releases on DVD.

Gremlins was the old edition. The first one. Lacking in extras, but in widescreen.
The old release of the film includes an inferior transfer. The SE DVD includes a remastered widescreen print.

The Shining and Eyes Wide Shut that I got are the remastered versions. Someone earlier said that they aren't.

I picked up Bullitt. I noticed that most of the DVDs, if not all, are snapper cases. Perhaps an attempt by Warners to get rid of old inventory before keepcase reissues.

So is there a new version of TMNT out?
Amazon.co.uk says it comes out 12/26/05, but I found a review of it dated 2004.

That's my theory. Maybe they will redo Superman in a 2D format.

I'm guessing (and hoping) the new version of SUPERMAN (1978) will feature both the original theatrical cut (and sound mix) along with the expanded Director's cut with the new sound mix.

Pure concentrated evil.

Snapper cases are DVD cases that are made of around 90% cardboard with a plastic locking mechanism that "snaps" the case shut at one side.

Snowmaker,

First I thought that this wasn't the SE, but it was. I picked it up tonight along with NBNW.

Thanks again!

The store I went to had these dumped in with all the old $5.50 titles, which made browsing something of a chore. I picked up Eyes Wide Shut, Interview With the Vampire, Best of Show and National Lampoon's Vacation for $5.50/ea. Not a bad deal. I was tempted to also get The Player (Robert Altman). I didn't see any Empire Records.

And oddly enough, Paula Abdul was there today signing American Idol DVDs. I was a little surprised to see her at Wal-Mart.

Was the Interview with the Vampire in a snapper case?

lauren,

Yes.

But the price makes up for it since I couldn't find it for less than 13-14 bones new until now.

I didn't find a single one of those titles at mine-- looked in that time waster bargain bin for about 10 minutes too.

Oh well, I can't stand shopping there anyway

Thank goodness I saw this. I almost bought Vacation at BB tonight for about $15! $5.50 is MUCH better and makes it a no-brainer.

My first DVD was The Matrix, which is a snapper. You would have laughed your ass off if you had seen me trying to close it for the first time! Took me a while to figure it out. For a while, I thought that it simply wouldn't close again!!!

I ask someone in electronics and they said it was by the registers up front. After looking through the bargin bin, I was very disappointed. Then I look over and saw the new display with all the mentioned titles.

Dont look in the Bargin bin, look for a separate display for these new titles.

I hope that may help some people find these titles. I pick up NBNW (wanted that title for a long time) and 3 others that I can't think of at this time, Odd!
